Some more of the DIY stuff I used in the shocker oil change project.
This is the special tool I used to hold the inner chamber still, while opening the Allen key bolt from below the shocker. It is quite long, about 17 inches.

The shuttle cock is just for size comparison!

This is my 40 pieces hexagonal 10mm shank bit set.
It is very useful in my DIY projects. It has bits of all sizes. It also provides adaptors in 2 sizes,viz.1/2 and 3/8.
I enjoy using this.

Hello Friends,

I also got car battery jumper cable recently which is Amazon Basics brand and made in china. It costs Rs. 949/- (Lightning Deal) which might be somewhat expensive but quality is very good and overall weight is 1.4kg. Cable length is 15 and half feet including crocodile clips. Core is thick as you can see in pictures and spec says it is 8 gauge. Crocodile clips are heavy and rubber coated, though I wish it had rubber cover/grip for extra safety. One should be careful when holding the crocodile clips because its not fully insulated (Springs & Rivets) and always follow instructions. Cable has 130 amp rating and I'm not sure whether it is suitable for high ah batteries (i.e Diesel engines, SUVs). I have petrol car with 35AH battery so it should work fine.

Before buying this cable, I searched for 10sqmm wires in local market but everyone has 90mtrs bundle and they won't give cut piece. Long ago I had bought generic car jumper cable from online store but it was a worst one. It had thick cable conductor but less then 1sqmm core. I wonder how it has 500 amps rating! and sellers still sell them online. Fortunately one of my friend is using it for charging his m800 car battery via home inverter so not a total loss.

Anyway, for those who couldn't make DIY car jumper cable, I would highly recommend this cable. Please make sure it is suitable for your car though.

Thanks...
Best Regards

This is what I have observed. Thankfully I have my own DIY cables now.
For inverter charging I have made XT90 system with sustained 90Amp capacity. Much more than enough for trickle or even full charge. My parkings have XT90 receptacle so whenever i park cars for longer duration, I plug them in. Charging In my case works 5 ways.

I had this old Chinese kit.
It came with the useless yellow handle as you can see here.(Which was broken on purpose later, read on).

The Stupid handle would spin itself when undoing tight screws.
So I went to the local welder and made this long & Strong handle. The handle is about 15 inches long and is very useful for undoing deeply hidden nuts. I just replaced Safari Condensor fan using this, which could've been a nightmare without my newfounded tool!

Well done.
Pros. All the bits are now useful/can be used with a longer bar with more torque.
Cons. You cannot use it in smaller/difficult to reach /bends/ spaces, because the bar is looong. Neither can you use it in L shape,as was intended with the original tool.

Still you have made a spoilt tool fully useful now.And that is the point of whole exercise .I like it.[thumbsup]

The L shape is what I assume the root of problem. As it would wobble and slip out when using.
I already have smaller handle, which can take these bits and more.[cheers]
its a Yi-feng kit (handle).

And I don't have such a car!! Ha ha ha
But I do have such a bike. Its bajaj discover 125 dtsi. And inspired by your DIY I will be using my tools on this bike.
You may not be having that many tools now.But do not loose heart. You have the time, intention and inspiration!!
I collected my tools slowly -slowly over the years. It was not overnight. Similarly you can go about procuring them.Just bring them only when most needed, and build upon it slowly.

Here is my drill bit set. This is sufficient for most of the DIY stuff I do.
These are different coloured bits suitable for..
1) Metal
2) Masonry/concrete/cement plaster
3) Wood and Fibre material

New tool update :
for long I had been wanting to buy a hydraulic jack .Bit the bullet and bought a bottle jack after suggestions from other members also.
Its a 12 ton bottle jack ! why 12 ton ? I first got a 4-ton jack which when i placed it under TANTOR( yeah I have named my T-fort [cheers]) looked like it would never even reach the jacking point on the frame even after full extension of the ram head .I returned it and got the next bigger sized which was 12 ton in the GROZ range .This fits under Tantor and does the job well.Sturdy and heavily built it should last a lifetime .
