As can be seen my present tyres are from Nov 2012, so it's almost 6 years. Jk elanzo are getting punctured frequently. They have become more noisy too. I have lost confidence in them. That's why the change. Otherwise grooves suggest that I can drive another 30000 kms for 3 more years.

Usually I am handed over crappy and cheap tyres as OEM . 4 different times I've been given jks. And they are as crappy as they come. So I was really happy with the new lot. To celebrate and feel more happy I painted them a little bit. I did not want to paint the brand. That was too much of an effort. This little bit makes me happy.

Recently installed seat back organiser in nexon. There were 2 of them. Just out of curiosity I installed the spare one in my xuv500. Found it very useful and convenient. Now I am looking for a new pair.

The wipers are getting cut at the end points. Actually there is shredding of rubber at the ends. They are already 4 years old ,changed only once ,in the life time of car. So it was time to change them, before this rainy season is over. I bought them from the OEM spares Mahindra shop near my home. They are a bit pricey and unlike swift they are a bit tricky to remove and install back .I will be doing it shortly.

M&M has made a small design change in the wiper locking mechanism. I had this one and one more old set with me(total 3)and I compared all of them. The latest iteration has this design change. And its for the better aesthetically. Now the wiper looks more neat and plush with no ugly gap holes. I like it.
Pics compare the old and the new, as well as the cut in the rubber.

Today I changed engine oil and filter in my xuv500. This is the second time I have done this. I have done this successfully last year too and it has run fine since. As I have been telling you that I am not able to drive the car that many kms, and I have to change my oils based on time elapsed between the two. That way I do not have to worry too much about the kms and all. I enjoyed every bit of the diy. I cherish these sort of moments, and I get to use all the toys or tools in my armory.
Pics from the diy.

After one week finally got the tyres fitted on the car. These are great and totally silent in the city.
All this while I was playing tyre tyre in my home, painting and Polishing and all.

As I will drive further, I will post more opinions on the subject. I have yet to see the performance of these on the highway.

Today I noticed moisture in the taillight assembly. On close inspection I saw water filled in my tail light.!! I was very surprised.
I looked very closely but couldn't make out any cracks and damages in the tail light assembly,so inferred that it must have gone through the wires or the seal at the top might have leaked. I opened the assembly and cleaned the whole tail light portion. There was lot of mud and grime and what not.
After draining all the water I put it all back up.Thankfully none of the locks or grommets were broken during disassembly.Everything is working fine now. There is no moisture, and the light is more bright now.

Special thanks to member kinshuk. arya for his post on removing tail light assembly in xuv. It helped a lot.

My RED HIGHWAY KING will be completing the 6th year with us this JAN 2019 only. So far the ownership has been fantastic.Mahindra put its heart and soul in this car.And it showed through.
By the 6th year my ritz was troubling me more with varied niggles and what not. Not with my XUV.
It took me to GOA,Badrinath, and Gangotri, and to so many other trips without a hitch, and in total comfort.I want it for many more years. It's the smartest looking car I have ever owned. It has a soul. And it is connected to me.
I LOVE MY XUV.
I LOVE MY XUV.
I LOVE MY XUV.

How much do Mahindra charge for a pair? Any idea of the manufacturer?
