Successfully completed 700 km total round trip in a single day, to Varanasi. No check engine light. XUV is performing as ever, viz powerful+menacing+ fuel efficient. Pickup is amazing.
After driving XUV all day yesterday, now Nexon feels sluggish even in sports mode !!M-hawk is a gem, truly!

Congrats on the 700Km run. I have done many 1000KM single day runs on XUV.
There is some magic with Pickup in XUV. It defeats vehicles thrice its price. Mahindra really hit the spot on this one. All other vehicles feel dull after driving XUV!

I thought Nexon with 100BHP will be exciting. And I was planning to buy one. But after listening from you, Nah.

Congrats on the 700Km run.

No no you got it wrong brother.Or maybe I conveyed it wrongly.
Nexon is wonderful inside the city. The fun starts when the turbo spools, and how many cars can you point out where the turbo starts @1500 rpm only. So I get my kicks, yes. And it definitely excites me more than petrol motors of 800,swift Ritz and the ignis. All these, I have extensively driven inside the city as well as on the highways.
The modern 1.3 litres s-cross I found was not derivable at all.Just out of the showroom it came. And my colleague presented me a drive.I was so disappointed. It was repeatedly stalling on me.After stalling it the third time in a 2 km drive I gave up.There is no lower end to it.In comparison to that Its difficult to actually stall a Nexon. Now that is the thing I love. No accelerator input, and still it pulls and pulls. This was the character in old jeeps.I wanted this character in a modern car.Its very very rare now.Maybe Innova(old gen) and sumo has it.

no doubt nexon is a wonderful product and performs better than usual mileage oriented budget products.

Xuv is difficult to stall in 1st & 2nd gear. infact you can drive with handbrake on. and it runs without accelerator pedal in almost all gears.

the hardest vehicle to stall would be Safari 3.0. you could drive with handbrake on in all gears. you could launch the car in 2nd or 3rd. and it drives without accelerator input in all gears.

Well I got key fob cover for my highway king.
Its silicone based and looks chewy. Its like mobile phone covers. Now since the XUV is red the natural choice of cover was red too.

I must give credit to @bhvm for giving me the idea. Thanks@ bhvm

After 5years and 8 months of duty, I changed the OEM battery today. Got Amaron GO this time. Old Battery was still working fine. Cranking had become sluggish, but it still it cranked in 1st go. It may have lasted well into the 7th year, but I did not want to take any risk on the highway, so went ahead and changed it. OEM battery still had the green color display showing all is okay!!
Got a good exchange price too of 2000/- I don't want any more than that, and I am happy with that!!
I wanted the latest date of manufacture. To make me feel better dealer offered August manufacturing date. What more could I expect. So I bought it immediately. It was made in August 2018.

While cleaning the base of the plastic plate I was surprised to see lot of acid spill marks and rust spots. I cleaned up everything with soap water and then applied petroleum jelly. The pics seen here are after thorough cleaning and completion of rust removal. I had to buy new 10 no. bolts.
Now its all nice and set. Hope this one lasts long..really long.[:)]

This plate was covered with acid and rust. After cleaning everything it looks alright

I plan to change all 5 tyres of my XUV soon. Since my running is not that much, I cannot depend on the kms driven to change the tyres. I have to change them based on the no of years they have been in service. My tyres have lasted 6 years, and therefore its time to get a new set. After a lot of deliberation and hunting the market in my city I narrowed it down to H/T tyres and the brand was Bridgestone. My running is 95% highway and 5% hilly areas and mud and slush and sometimes rock.
I wanted latest dated tyres just like my battery. After again checking numerous shops finally I got AUGUST 2nd week manufactured all five tyres. This is the month of august going on. What more could have I asked for. I simply grabbed it!!.
So new battery (august mfd). and new tyres( that too aug mfd). XUV must be really happy.
