@ilango : regarding modifications for a drift-car; (apart than tyres) can it help if we set the castor very near to zero? Coz then, while taking a turn, tyres can easily lose traction.

the best part if drifting is to make loose traction.
not by adjusting the camber angles.

Are you going to test drifting 100% , no
so no playing with caster, camber , toe in etc

just few practice will help to master them

things needed.
a good rear wheel drive car , for first timers a amby , contessa will help
some vit M , cos later for tyre and clutch things.

and promote with bolero scorpio etc.

same wise , for power slide try with 800
then move on to other cars.

there are drift steering wheels , but not that much required.

hand brake control is the thing what you need.
a front drive sedan will help later on after 800 due to additional weight at rear.

Does any one say it cant be done in ford endeavor automatic? cause of no gear and so no down shift , torque etc?

the answer is it can be done

agreed.

But just for my doubt's sake, can setting the castor very near to zero help in drifting??

Castor helps in rolling of the vehicle, so when we take a left turn, the car tend to roll over to the right. If the castor is zero, no rolling occurs, and the total cornering force acts sideways on the wheels, and the vehicle skids.

Not just Zero.Pro drifter use Heavy -ve cambers on their wheels. it makes them move sideways easily. But the problem with -ve camber is that the force needed to recover from the drift is high. So using heavy -ve camber on FF's front wheels are really not recommended. u can use them on the rear though.

Topple , But we are safe.

it just need addition torque . in sense sudden torque like a avalanche mode.

any automatic on sudden press of throttle down shift and then upshift.

That is what happen in endy too.

Will try in my sierra on last day of tyre change!![evil]

This being my second post, I don't want to sound too cocky. neil hit the nail on the head, he was right from his first post.
You just can't drift a FWD car. Its called a powerslide if done with a FWD.

I'm no professional drifter, but I've driven my mates drift-spec Nissan Silvia S13 with a SR20DET engine.

And I call it "drift-spec" because it had had so many modifications to help achieve longer holds and higher angle of drift. Drifting usually is loss of traction in the rear wheels (not locking them up).

With my mates car, here are a few mods from the top of my head:
Suspension: Fully adjustable BC coilovers. The are set in the hardest possible setting and lower than you can even imagine. To help him go lower, he has custom built the wheel arch tubs and strut towers.

Rear camber is at -3deg, this is an answer to the question posted before. Yes, tow out, negative camber all "help" with drifts, basically its having the least amount of rubber sticking to the ground.

A picture to help understand camber.

and here are pics of my mates S13 that I speak of.

Thats ripped of S13 mate
Lot of mods on S13.
Silvias from 180SX to 240sx were the perfect drift cars. Why is the car sitting on slick tyres.

how come it doesn't have bonnet and registration? and where is it now?

On slicks because the wheels are from his brothers TME s14.
bonnet was removed for the photoshoot, and the car isn't road legal anymore, Beautiful tows it to tracks.
he isn't bothering with rego considering the ride height, wheel width and many more defects.
