I've recently changed front and rear suspension for my Lancer (2000 Diesel Model). I am yet to change tyres as it was very old and lost thread. I feel rattling noise from under hood whenever I drive in the bad roads.

Anybody can suggest whether tyre is the culprit ?

Vibration in Lancer when Switching on A/C

I could feel vibration when I switch on A/C in my 2000 Model diesel Lancer.

Last week all (4) the engine mounts got replaced.

Is this due to old belts?

Suggestion from TAI-ns appreciated ..

Thanks in Advance.

Re: Vibration in Lancer when switch on A/c

Reasons :
1 Engine hunts for Idle
2 Compressor belts
3 Choked AAC valve
4 Engine mounts

Re: Vibration in Lancer when Switching on A/C

Thanks for your immediate reply.

1. Engine Mount - Replaced last week.
2. AAC Valve - I guess this generates vaccum. Working fine.
3. Compressor belts - need to be replaced.

PCV Valve (one which connects vaccum tube.. Correct me if I am wrong) is malfunctioned and need to be replaced. Awaiting spare. Is this the reason ?

Re: Vibration in Lancer when Switching on A/C

From what I can tell it can be clogged AAC , aac valves helps to push the RPM up when Aircon is turned on . If that doesn't work properly the car will madly hunt for Idle that can lead to lots of vibrations as well because engine is not stable at that stage.

Not sure about PCV valve, did you get it diagnosed?

Re: Vibration in Lancer when Switching on A/C

Sorry I have wrongly mentioned that PCV valve is malfunctioned. I was not sure about the spare name. I checked with Mechanic who confirmed the valve name is diaphragm valve.

He diagnised vaccum generator which works fine. Only this diaphragm valve is malfunctioned which controls RPM.

I guess AAC and diaphragm valve are same... Could you please confirm ?

Diaphragm is in the ACC Valve , thats why I asked you to give it a nice clean

All is well.
Its always on the intake manifold and when you turn the aircon it gives the signal to your AAC valve (from ECU),Engine's RPM increases .

hope its not too much to fix . nice and easy

Re: Vibration in Lancer when Switching on A/C

mechanic said the valve is not working. whenever I switch on a/c, it is not adjusting throttle to control rpm.
