[This is a very short travelogue, we could not make out this mission due to bad weather.]

It was in my wish list to visit Vagamon Kurisumala. We were planning sometime during early July 2014. Fortunately it overlap with some other family function arranged near Bharanaganam, the place of Saint Alphonsama. So the whole event scheduled for a day including Vagamon visit. So trip was from Pathanamthitta-Pala-Bharanganam-Vagamon-Kajirapally-Erumeli and back to Pathanamthitta.

Monsoon is at its peak during July. So moving around during the rainy season is difficult.
We reached Bharanaganam without much delay. The drive will be through Manimala forest range for some 7-8 Kms.

All are ready , including our v

Reached Baharanganam, and the church beside this vehicle is having tomb of St. Alphonsama. Check the photo, clouds are moving. Chance of rain very shortly. This ground is big, can hold big crowd. The left far end is having the Museum of the items used by St. Alphonsama. Pope John Paul came to this place, declare the Saint hood.

Vehicles are parked, near to the resource center. The far end white compound wall is side of the road. Well maintained, neat and clean. Lots of Toyota Innovas in Kerala. May be due to high resale value.

We parked at the resort for the Family reception. The resort is the make shift of old traditional ‘Nalukettu’. An old home, reshaped to a resort. Now, the road to this resort is very narrow, and slippery due to rain. My first experience - tyre plunge to slush. Wow! Believe me had a hard time taking this guy out of the slush. Only the front left wheel plunged. I have to bring stones, and jam the tyre to bring it out. 4x2 is a let down in such cases, need 4x4.

An old house, with wooden storage vault called ‘AARA’. They restored the house with split unit, latest tiles, and including a bar counter!!. They have food service too. Nice food. This resort is located little inside, and away from the noise of the main road. So this is an ideal place to refresh and calm one after a hefty schedule. Passion fruits season during July and could pluck as many.

We then moved to Vagamon after the reception. I used Google GPS to reach Vagamon. The rain was on and off. But towards Vagamon for some time the rain was at its full swing. We used de-humidifier, with A/C to avoid the glass to cover with fogs. Almost reached the Vagamon heights. Stopped for taking some photos. One side is rock while the other side a deep valley.

Our trip was ahead of AR Ram’s trip, but little about Vagamon in that Travelogue[frustration] . http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...26-much-awaited-6-days-monsoon-road-trip.html

Attaching Some more photos of the Vagamon uphill trip. Check the photo, the rain just over and little slippery road. The fourth photo below, where we met the Malayalam cine artist Kunjacko Boban with his Pajero Sports.

Refreshing pictures, Mathew.
I was there once at Bharanganam church. A must visit for those seeking fresh air and tranquility.
Exactly. Thanks for your appreciation.

We continued the uphill, and reached next landing zone.
The rain just over, wind was continuing, and the fog started covering.
