A new-look 2021 MG ZS has launched in the UK this week, after first debuting in China last year. For 2020, the ZS again debuts a look that suggests a little bit of this and a little bit of that in its inspiration.
The decidedly more modern design comes as a mid-life makeover for the small SUV, which was first introduced at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show.
Just as the ZS did when it debuted after its larger GS sibling (replaced by the HS), the facelifted ZS will likely inform the styling direction of future updates and new-generation models.
Changes along the profile are limited to new wheel designs, while the rear debuts a new LED signature for the tail lights, and again a new bumper design that adds more visual width to the small SUV.
Inside, a larger 'floating' 10.1-inch display replaces the 8-inch unit of the current model, along with a digital driver display on high-spec models (known as Exclusive in the UK and Essence here).
New piano-style buttons also now sit beneath the display for audio and air-conditioning control.
No powertrain or other mechanical changes have been made, which for Australia should again mean 84kW/150Nm 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder and 82kW/160Nm 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engines.
Autonomous emergency braking is now featured, along with blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.
Apple Carplay again features, along with Android Auto.
