MG Motor India has had its fair share of success with its very first SUV - the Hector in India. The company has already crossed the 50,000 bookings mark for the Hector with more pouring in. Having launched its second car - the ZS EV in the country already, it is clear that MG Motor India is betting big on the SUV segment for its growth. At the Auto Expo 2020, MG Motor India, made it quite clear that SUV remains the prime target for its growth in the country. It showcased the Hector Plus which will offer more seating capacity on the inside.

The Hector Plus will be offered only in both 6- and 7-seater cabin layout, with the latter featuring captain seats in the second row. The 6-seater car was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and the company says that the 7-seater version will be shown only at the time of launch. MG Motor India will launch the Hector Plus in the second half of 2020.

Hector Plus has long big touch screen, panoramic sunroof enough to beat daylight out of Gravitas.

I believe Gravitas would have more seating comfort for last row, since roof is raised a bit, theres bound to be good headroom for last row, but who cares when we have Jazzy touch screen and sunroof.

Build quality, Handling wise, safety wise I feel to give better marks to Gravitas but these are incoherent properties which will not be so visible during TD. So Hector plus wins over here.
Media management is done excellently by MG (see the fire issue how well it was handled) MG have 3 cars on fire, similarly we had 3 Nanos on fire, we still remember Nano = Fire where are Hector is Hot. So HectorPlus Wins here.
Customer care, again Hectors wins over here.

So no matter the price difference, Hector seems to be winning this round as well.

MG Motor India is gearing up to kick start post-lockdown operations by not only delivering the pending orders of Hector SUV but also getting the new 6-seater variant ready for launch. The MG Hector Plus which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2020 earlier this year has now been spotted at a dealership.

MG has recently teased the longer variant of its popular SUV a few days ago. Production of the new variant commenced at the automaker’s Halol plant earlier this month and the vehicle was also spotted in the UK during TVC shoot.

Confirmed: MG Hector Plus to be launched in three variants: To challenge Toyota Innova Crysta

hectorplus1.jpg

MG Motor India has started teasing the Hector Plus SUV on its social media and website. The MG Hector Plus was first shown at the Auto Expo 2020. The Hector Plus was showcased in 6-and 7-seater formats. However, Express Drives has now exclusively learned that the new MG Hector Plus will initially be launched only as a six-seater. The new MG Hector Plus will be available in three variants. These will consist of three engine options – 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre petrol hybrid automatic, and 2.0-litre diesel. The variants will be Smart, Super and Sharp. MG Motor aims to take on the mighty Toyota Innova Crysta with this version of the Hector. In fact, a look at the specs tells us that Hector Plus has got more equipment and technology on its side. The five-year warranty and the associated bundling of service costs will be appropriate for someone looking for a luxurious seven-seater on a budget.

Well about Hector Plus is you are paying more for a 4 seater. heard (not from Reivewer) that last seat is a joke and cannot be used easily. very cramped. So ineffect its going be an expensive 4 seater. 5 people will have challenge in seating in Hector plus.
Apart from that. its pretty loaded with lot of technologies but psst psst its Chineseeeeee

MG Hector Plus TVC: Check it out

MG has now released a brand new TVC for the Hector Plus that showcases what the car offers.

The video has been uploaded by MG India on their official youtube channel. The video starts by showing the exterior of the Hector Plus. The front of the new SUV gets a slightly larger black chrome studded grille with redesigned LED DRLs. The turn indicators are now placed on the lower part of the bumper with headlamps. The headlamp itself gets a minor revision and the bumper looks a bit more sharp. Overall, the car looks much more premium than the regular Hector.

Just watched reviews of HECTOR PLUS on Autocar India, Carwale and Zigwheels.
Understood few things.
First, Third row is cramped and utter Nonsense.
It's better a four seater now.
Second, nothing much to write home about, so justifies 60k premium over 5 seater except covers taxes for the extra one seat, (well, loose one seat).
Third, bad suspension in petrol and unfriendly city ride in deisel. Both have different suspension set up.

So finally, you want a chauffeur relaxedly driven car, then it is the HECTOR. It seems a compromised car, except to show off bling and some resale after 3 years of use.
......... Or else simply move away.
