Mercedes-Benz is one of the first to introduce Door-to-Door Navigation with Apple Watch

Stuttgart/Sunnyvale. Mercedes-Benz creates an intelligent integration between Apple Watch and Mercedes-Benz vehicles with its new MB Companion App. The MB Companion App allows Mercedes-Benz costumers to search for directions on the Apple Watch or on iPhone initiating a complete door-to-door experience. A seamless integration unfolds: giving walking directions to the car on the Apple Watch, driving directions on the vehicle navigation system and again walking directions on the Apple Watch from the car to the final destination.

The destination that the driver selects on Apple Watch is passed to Mercedes-Benz COMAND Online once the driver starts the vehicle. He then receives safe and non-distracting driving directions to his selected destination from Mercedes-Benz navigation. When the driver parks and leaves his car, Apple Watch gives him walking directions to the final destination making it the perfect guide for “Last Mile Navigation”.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class and S-Class vehicles equipped with COMAND Online will be able to work with the MB Companion App as of fall this year. Further models will follow soon. By then, the MB Companion App will also enable drivers to find vehicle information such as Fuel Level, Range, Maintenance Code, and Odometer Readings on Apple Watch.

Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America (MBRDNA) – the agile innovation center in Silicon Valley has worked together with Daimler development experts from Sindelfingen to enable Mercedes-Benz to make this new Door-to-Door navigation available for customers. With its culture of collaboration, networking, innovation and creativity, Mercedes-Benz’s team in Silicon Valley established a track record in integrating Silicon Valley innovations into vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz India considering Maybach and S63 AMG

Having launched the Mercedes-Benz S Guard, the armored version of the S Class, the Indian arm of the German luxury car maker is eyeing more derivatives on its flagship luxury saloon. Two of these variants are the even-more-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach and the performance-oriented S63 AMG.

According to Mercedes-Benz India’s managing director and CEO, Mr. Eberhard Kern,
“many customers in india are asking” for the Maybach variant of the S Class. “We’re considering if there is enough demand and according to this we will decide what to do”.
The Maybach variant of the S Class, available as Maybach S500 and Maybach S600, feature a 206 mm increase to the length of the sedan, and all of this is centered on enhancing rear-seat legroom. The Maybach variants also opt for individual rear seating with reclining and massaging seats as standard.
The S500 is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 petrol engine, the same engine which is assembled by Mercedes-Benz India at its Pune plant for the S Class. The Maybach S600 though is powered by the 6.0-liter V12 engine, which is also found under the hood of the S-Guard.

Coming to the S63 AMG, power comes from a hand-assembled 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine capable of 585 hp and 900 Nm of torque. These derivatives of the S Class, if launched in India, will be imported through the CBU route.

Record 10,079 units sold in the January-September 2015 period, a 34% year-on-year growth (Jan- Sep 2014: 7,529 units)

Pune: India’s largest luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz, continued its stellar growth performance in the first nine months of the year. Continuing its historic growth momentum and record sales run, Mercedes-Benz India registered a robust 34% growth in the January-September 2015 period delivering 10,079 cars to its customers since January 2015. By selling 10079 units, Mercedes-Benz sold almost the entire volume of 2014 in the first nine months of 2015.

This spectacular growth is enabled by the most comprehensive and a young product portfolio comprising the New Generation Cars, the sedans, the SUVs and the AMG performance cars. The CLA, the C-Class and the E-Class sedans spearheaded the sales volumes of Mercedes-Benz, coupled with strong performance from the SUV portfolio as well. The sedan portfolio emerged stronger by 39% in the January-September 2015 period. Spearheading the popularity of the SUV portfolio was the sales success of the GLA, closely matched by the M-Class and the GL-Class. The SUV portfolio grew by an impressive 70% in January-September 2015 period. Giving a further boost to the unmatched SUV portfolio, Mercedes-Benz will be launching the new GLE (earlier M-Class) on 14th October for the India market. The company also witnessed strong sales performance from the exclusive and top-end performance brand Mercedes-AMG and the Mercedes-Maybach sub-brands. The Mercedes-Maybach S 600 is already sold out for the remaining quarter of 2015 and the booking for the locally produced Mercedes-Maybach S 500 has already commenced.

Mercedes Benz did an outstanding gesture by congratulating BMW on completing it's 100 years of existence in Automotive industry. It issued an official picture thanking BMW which shows how composed and well balanced is Mercedes Benz towards the competitors. In any market, where the competitors are looking for an opportunity to ride-over the others, Mercedes Benz as true to it's magnanimous stature did this wonderful gesture. Some automotive blogs I know made fun of this gesture but that simply shows their levels of understanding.

Mercedes-Benz India clocks its highest ever sales in the Indian market; scripts its best month, best quarter and best fiscal ever

Pune: India’s largest luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today announced its best ever sales in the dynamic Indian market. The company recorded its best fiscal year (13,558 units), best quarter (3,622 units) and best monthly sales ever (March 2016). This historic sales performance firmly underscores the growing customer preference for the Three Pointed Star in India, as a result of a highly focused customer centric approach adopted by the brand. The Q1 sales momentum achieved is significant against the backdrop of the diesel ban in the key Delhi and NCR market, successive price hikes and a lack of incentives for the automotive sector in the Union Budget.

The E-Class, celebrating 20 years in India, was the highest selling car model for Mercedes-Benz in the first quarter of 2016. The E-Class’ popularity was closely followed by the C-Class which remained a significant volume contributor in Q1 2016. Apart from the sedans, the SUV portfolio comprising the GLA, GLE and the GL also grew in Q1 2016. The New Generation Cars remained a steady contributor to volumes in the quarter as well.

Well they have not just wished them, but there was pun as well. Mercs have called themselves as the leader and have show rear of a speeding AMG which to me indicates that they are still ahead of BMW.
