Woke up bit early on Sunday and the much awaited thread in TAI in live. Thanks a lot 350Z. Some observations:

1. Honda, Hyundai, Mahindra, Maruti, Skoda (Hi), TATA, Toyota and VW have managed to post YoY growth. So many company's monthly sales is not even close to Centuries' old Omni [evil]. Such a strong-hold "Safety-to-the-wind TinCan" manufacturer is having on Indian Market. VERY Good for Maruti company owners.

2. YoY, everything is (-)ve for Chevy. Beat, Sail Twins, Cruze & Captiva. All capable b..u...t.... Do something Chevy. Hire KKR owner for promotion :-)

3. FIAT is one brand so many Indians like to succeed, but not prepared to own. In Celerio Diesel thread, member dr_vm appreciates how safe he felt in Punto against the regular tincans (http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/indian-auto-sector/17073-maruti-suzuki-celerio-diesel-now-launched-details-page-7-a-10.html#post448376). And our market is helping FIAT burn sales chart. The sooner we Indians realises the value of our lives, the better for us and our families and also for Cos like FIAT.
Linea (152), Scala (92), Fiesta (46) & Vento (33); Sooooooo Niiiiiiiiice to see Linea outselling some competitors. Yeah, figures are NOT good for anyone.

4. What, only 46 Fiestas sold ? Ecosports deserves better numbers. Is the assembly line getting upgraded ? Here too YoY is (-)ve across range (scratching head).

5. City is firmly on Top and Amaze numbers are good. Mobilio (1249) Vs Ertiga (5430). [frustration]

6. Eon is doing fine, i10 & i20 are ensuring a decent looking sales chart. Seeing them cross 10,000 nos is nice. Xcent is capable of another couple of 1000 numbers. Elantra has totally lost the plot to Altis. Verna's sales figures {City (7562), Ciaz(5012), Duster+Terrano(2486), Verna(2127), Rapid(1029)} should give Hyundai some solid headache. It's time they wake up.

7. Bolero + Scorpio + XUV500 do the trick for Mahindra.

8. Maruti is yet again lapping ahead of competition. 36,800+ for Swift and Dzire combo. Month after month, the single largest selling combo in India. Fantastic. With soooo many numbers added to roads without ABS in L & V variants ? Stop bothering and encash the cheques. "If market wants Tincans, supply them only that" is the aim of the leader. I'll ensure that a Maruti is not in my RVM for long to ensure my safety.

7. Duster and Terrano twins, and Lodgy are making the presence of the Sister Cos felt.

8. I don't know what to say about Skoda and VW. Really.

9. Dzire (19663), Xcent (4871), Amaze (3699), Zest (1866) is not looking good for TATA. What is bugging Zest sales ? Toyota is just a bit ahead of TATA in this month's sales figures. If Zest sales pick up bit more, it'll be goodenough for TATA to edge ahead of the Japs. But, is that what TATA wants ?

Absolutely spot on and precise report Vibhor[clap]. It is as usual the dominance of Maruti. Top 4 positions again secured by them. Celerio entering the top 10 is pleasant sight. No matter what the situation of the industry is, Maruti's monthly and yearly sales figures are largely positive. Ford, Chevrolet and Datsun are facing the heat. It would be interesting to see if the Ford Aspire in coming time and the Trail Blazer for Chevy shall be able to revert the fortunes for them.

Regards

Was waiting for the report to come. This is usual case. The MSIL occupies the road(share!), and other's are either walking behind Usain Bolt or crawling! Whatever we say, no one can beat MSIL in sales territory and they will clamp on to us tight.

It wouldn't hurt to have top 15 or top 20 in the report instead of top 10(first chart), since it might be good info to know who is just outside the top 10 and have chance to break into it. Just a suggestion.

This particular sales figure taken from Deccan Chronicle paints a different figure. Exports have bumped a 773% but domestic sales have crashed to the rock bottom esp, Mahindra.

Just nee to clarify.

What is happening why aren't ppl buying the zest, it offers so much but still no buyers
Well there a 4 words preceeding the name Zest, T. A. T. A. most of the people I know in my family, have either a very very strong bias towards suzuki. Dzire is the best they say. or upon educating them on cost and benefit of zest, because they have maruti outlet in thier town, they opt for suzuki. [frustration]

its thier money, I cannot force at gunpoint or knifepoint to buy a zest.

Tata have to have a very very powerful zest and bolt ads being done. How many zest ads do you see. where as for altoK10 that parachuter ad is played on every channel.

So Even Tata marketing team has to be blamed. The technology/ engineering team have provided a fantastic product. The sales and service teams are gearing up. But what are the marketing team doing? Smoking ectasy? why is there no presence of the car on media?

Very true vicky. I have seen some people who have not kept "Zest" as an option in their list while buying CS. Same is happening with Nano, one of my colleague brought Celerio AMT and he was not at all interested in test driving Nano. Very Sad !!
