Mostly probably will be going with the purchase of Swift ZX AMT

This is regarding the change of Tyre for Maruti Swift 2018, the stock tyres are 185 / 65 R15 and choice for upgrade is 195/65R15 205/65R15 which would be better ?

Last two upgrades for my other car was from Michele so for a change thought will try and see continental (mc5 / CC5)or Yokohoma (Earth/ Blu Earth) any experiences here as well !

Re: Tyre change suggestions

Better you ask few showrooms before going for an upsize.
Carmakers are known for rejecting warranty claims on finding even a slight modification.
Thanks Sachin, Atleast Honda and some leasing car companies dont have problem in changing as in the last 9 years for both my Honda City I have changed and there was no objection from their side. Need to check with MSL representative.

Since you are buying a new car, so warranty is a big thing you should think before you void it.

The best tyre upgrade for 185/65R15 is 205/60R15. Which you can get in Yokohama S drive/A drive, Bridgestone Potenza GIII, Continental CC5, Goodyear Eagle F1.

Checkout the thread pattern and your driving preference and choose wisely. One more thing, you can use the same alloys to accommodate 205/60R15.

Most probably you didn't required any warranty claim in those cars.
Get it from them in writing. I am sure the moment you ask in writing, they will show their true colours. [:)]

Whenever you are upsizing, the aspect ratio ,that is here (185/65/R15- in that the middle value ),it should be decreased with respect to upsizing, else it will pose an issue.
check this site.

Tyre Upsizing, Tyre Upsizing Calculator, Tyre Upgrade, Upgrading tyres, Michelin Tyre dealer in chennai, Authorised Michelin Tyre dealer in chennai, Michelin India, Michelin Tyres, tyrestore chennai

If you use 205/65/R15 ,it will give you trouble (I doubt whether such a profile will be available as it has 4% error)
Check for 205/60/R15 -which has 0.89%error

My Bad instead of typing 60 I mentioned 65, the best bet in the scenario is 205/60/R15 as 195/65 R15 and 195/65 R15 are hovering around 2% mark and other in minus.

So I am left with cleaner choices now on 205/ 60R 15, have
Yokohoma - S Drive
Michiline - XM2
Continental - MC 5

S drive would be my suggestion but only if your maximum [City : highway => 30:70] use is on highway.

Else choose Conti or Michelin. TO my knowledge Michelin do not sell in size 205/60R15.

Thanks ... for now I have planned to go with the known devil Michelin Primacy 3 ST or XM2 with 195/60R 15 or 195/65R 15.
