Sir, a slight correction here, Though the authorized capacity of Personnel was 4696 however, as per the official Permission Certificate issued by Deputy Commissioner Gurgaon, the permission was granted for only 600 workers.

maruti-unsold-bs4-cars.jpg

India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki was hit with a loss of Rs 125 crore over its unsold BS4 stock. Maruti has not revealed as to exactly how many cars were lying unsold. But the number is expected to be in the region of 1,500 cars. Maruti Suzuki was one of the first brands in the country to commence a rapid transition to BS6 emission norms. In the process, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has ditched all its diesel powertrains for a petrol-only portfolio. For instance, the previous diesel-only Vitara Brezza subcompact crossover comes only in a 1.5 petrol avatar now.

Apart from Maruti Suzuki, several automakers operating in the country are expected to share their losses on BS4 units. With online sales platforms becoming part of the ‘new normals’, the Indian automotive industry is heading to a new direction — read more details.

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Monday said its entry level small car Alto has become the best-selling model for the 16th year in a row clocking sale of 1.48 lakh units in 2019-20. Launched in September 2000, the Alto became India's bestselling car in 2004 for the first time, the company said in a statement.

MSI Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Shashank Srivastava said the strong customer base of Alto is a testament of customers appreciating the timely upgrades and refreshment in the brand. “Maruti Suzuki has kept a close eye on the evolving customer preferences and aligned its product range to such changes," he added.

Keeping with new regulations, the current Alto comes with standard safety features including driver side airbag, anti-lock braking systems and electronic brake-force distribution, reverse parking sensor and high speed alert system. It also complies with latest crash and pedestrian safety regulation, the company said.
