I had a brief meeting with some dealer executives today, got to know that CIAZ Hybrid is quite convenient for the buyers. It has idling stop time of 180 seconds at a red-signal beyond which it shall automatically start. I am also told that switch over to conventional fuel is quite an easy operation among many other things and of-course a new variant has also come in V Diesel. In couple of days we'll have illustrative info on SHVS which shall help everyone to understand to core what this technology is all about.

This is ZDI version right?Anyways,new SHVS price seems to be VFM.Planning to replace brother's 2011 Swift VDI 60K run with Ciaz Hybrid Diesel soon.

And,can you tell me the advantages and disadvantages of Hybrid Diesel SHVS?

As I haven't driven one yet, I can't provide an elaborate feedback but based on my interactions with dealer executives I can give you some pointers. Hope they are useful for you dear.

* You get provision for a alternate drive train.i.e Diesel as well as mild hybrid.

* Fuel efficiency has also increased though not much but as MSIL says 28.09 Km/l safely it can give 24-25 km/l

* In Vdi (o) you get ABS and Driver+Passenger Airbag, Idle Stop-Start and Gear Shift Indicator.

* Idle stop-start might irritate the drivers because at large people aren't accustomed to this until they are driving premium luxury sedan.

* The Change over to Hybrid from Diesel is controlled via button with "A" mark.

* It has idle stop start time for a red traffic signal of 180 secs.

Rest I'll let you know once I have driven it. On the exteriors you will not get any drastic change. What ever changes are made, they are under the hood as you know.

Looks Good and well priced, I see the Diesel CIAZ a clear winner with Maruti passing on the . ED savings to customer. The VFM component is too good to ignore, unless other manufacturers come up with a smart Hybrid on thier own, I see CIAZ as the Sedan Sales topper.

If the starter cum alternator is able to start the engine I wonder why the conventional starter is used for the first start?
