Map My India Launches CarPad 5

MapmyIndia has announced the launch of CarPad 5, the next generation of its connected car products. CarPad 5 is an all-in-one GPS navigator, smart phone and 3G tablet, which runs on 1GHz Samsung processor (Cortex A8, S5PV210), Android OS, built-in 3G and Wi-Fi and has a 5 inch capacitive touch screen. The new navigation device is pre-loaded with Aura, MapmyIndia’s latest, fully 3D and connected GPS navigation interface.

CarPad 5 has a host of in-car productivity increasing features built around MapmyIndia’s Aura maps, which have been rated as the most accurate and comprehensive digital maps of India. They also offer real-time traffic updates, house level search, security (track and trace) and discount offers in the vicinity.

“After the success of MapmyIndia CarPad, which endorses our view that that there is a strong demand for in-car productivity gadgets, we present the next-generation CarPad 5 to Indian consumers. The CarPad 5 is one of the many in-car productivity gadgets we plan to launch in the near future,” said Rakesh Verma, managing director, MapmyIndia.

MapmyIndia CarPad 5 is priced at Rs 19,990 (which includes the CarPad 5 device with 3G, Wi-Fi, 4GB SD card memory, pre-installed MapmyIndia Navigator Aura, containing the CarPad windshield mount and Car charger).

buddy can you explain what track & trace?? well is it anti theft but who will leave their carpad in car everytime?

It is anti theft, i guess they expect their customer's to leave this device in the car every time which is not very practical.
