Hi guys ,
Yesterday me and my friend were conversing this topic , different brands and their engines . In recent times , mostly manufacturers depend on mostly a single manufacturer for engine (Especially Diesel ) .
For Example - 1.Maruti Suzuki , Tata Motors - Depending on Fiat for their Diesel engine
2.Nissan depending on Renault's Diesel engine
3.Skoda , Audi on VW's Engines

Wwant others also to comment on their knowledge , especially want to know whether Ford has their own diesel engines or they depend on some manufacturer for same .

If a thread exist so , Mods kindly merge the thread .

Interesting topic.

The 2.2 Diesel engines used by Tata & Mahindra were developed by expertise from.AVL, Austria.

Tata calls it DICOR, Mahindra calls it 2.2 mHawk. Both engines displace 2179cc with about 140 to 156bhp of power and 320 to 400nm of torque depending on config.

The engines are used in safari, sumo grande , winger, Xuv 500, Scorpio etc.

Recently, Tata harrier came with 2.0L engine from FCA (jeep compass) although in detuned form.

The new Gurkha also came from Mercedes licensed 2.2 OM611 engine. Making 140bhp.

Some of the Ford engines are collaborated with Citroen/Peugeot and used in Mazda as well.
