A wonderful Mahindra till date. Excited to see this on road!
It all depends on leg room space and utility space in the back for luggage if it has to take down the mighty Innova.

From the pictures, it looks like the boot space is very less if all seats are up. The last row does not look very cramped. Captain seats are tempting to be chauffeured around.
I don't think it will be a competitor to the Innova , if its a monocoque or FWD. The Lodgy was quite a competitor to the Innova, in terms of interior space, however, it did not live up to the expectations due to the FWD and smaller engine.

Mahindra Marazzo MPV red, blue coloured mid and top variants spied – 3rd Sep Launch

The Shark inspired Mahindra Marazzo will launch in India on 3rd September 2018. It has been sighted on test once again ahead of launch, drawing attention to its exterior features.

In the latest spy shots, the Mahindra Marazzo’s mid variant is seen. It does not get machine cut alloys as seen in the top end variants. But it does get twin-barrel projector headlamps and LED DRL on the fog light. In addition to that, the new spy shots also confirm two new colour options – Red and Blue.

Interiors are in two tone color scheme with dashboard with faux aluminum trims and chrome finished air conditioning vents. On board features also include controls on steering wheel, automatic climate controls and a new touchscreen infotainment system.

Mahindra Marazzo will be powered by a new engine, details of which are yet to be confirmed. As of now, this engine is rumoured to be a 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder diesel engine offering 130 bhp power and 300 Nm torque. Transmission is to be taken care by a 6 speed manual gearbox with options of automatic gearbox to be added later.

To be presented in both 7 and 8 seater configurations, the Mahindra Marazzo could be priced between Rs 11-15 lakhs once launched in India.

M&M are still playing coy and keeping their cards close to the chest - at least as far as the drive train is concerned (FWD or RWD) as well as the structure (body-on-chassis or monocoque) - thus keeping the interested parties on tenterhooks[:D]!

2018 Mahindra Marazzo puddle lamps spied – Bookings, test drive at dealer open

Mahindra Marazzo launch is scheduled for 3rd September, 2018. Ahead of launch, plenty of Mahindra Marazzo MPV spyshots have emerged, including a set from night testing. Ready to take on Toyota Innova Crysta and Tata Hexa, this is a new segment for Mahindra.

With the exception of an introductory price list, the vehicle is expected to be in the range of competitors offerings. The most recent Mahindra Marazzo test mule spied features puddle lamps fitted under large OVRMs in Mahindra’s all new offering.

Puddle lamps seen clearly in the new images, lighting the area where you set foot while entering or exiting the car

The MPV seats 7/8 depending on seat configuration. A 7-seater model features captain seats in the middle row, and 8-seater model with a foldable bench seat in a 40:20:40 split. Drawing inspiration from a shark, Mahindra has since name revelation, regularly revealed bits of the car giving all and sundry a fair idea of what to expect.

Up-front, one’s greeted by fairly wide double barrel projector headlamps and a 7 chrome slats grille below which sits a central airdam. The Marazzo also sports a set of new sporty alloy wheels with large ORVMs, and here we can also see the long profile of the MPV. Test mules have been fitted with standard 6 petal/ 5 split/ 6 split alloy wheels.

Bookings open. Test drive starts.

Mahindra Marazzo LED taillamps are shark-tail inspired for an arrowhead design cluster that ends on the side panel rather than a column cluster. The cabin is decked in beige with dual tone black and grey dashboard panels. A creative released by Mahindra has the touchscreen infotainment system sit under the front central ac vents, a dual guage instrument console centred by a MID unit, and a surround roof-mounted air-con unit.

Mahindra Marazzo is expected to get power from an all new 1.5-litre diesel engine. This will be mated with manual and automatic transmission option. Only a diesel variants are expected to be launched initially. Dealership enquiries reveal pre-launch bookings are being entertained along with test drive requests.

AutoCar India’s Tweeter page gave some pics of upcoming Mahindra Marazzo.
New, exclusive spy images of Mahindra’s Marazzo MPV, scheduled to launch in India on September 3, 2018, show various exterior and interior details for the first time. The spied model is the higher-spec M8 variant.

The ‘shark-inspired’ grille takes a dominant position on the nose of the new Marazzo. The headlamps, which feature LEDs, are similar to those found on the XUV500, though the triangular fog lamp clusters (with LEDs) are unique. The large rear window gets a wiper and is bounded by a chrome strip at the bottom (below which is the housing for the number plate), which connects the C-shaped LED tail-lamps. The LED lights are only expected to be offered on the higher-spec trims; 17-inch black-finished alloy wheels are also on offer with this top-spec trim.

The cabin area of the Marazzo M8 sees the introduction of a digital instrument cluster, a 7.0-inch (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible) touchscreen infotainment system mounted on the centre console and an automatic AC unit. The steering wheel has buttons for the infotainment system on the right and for cruise control on the left. The dashboard gets a dual-tone gloss black and beige finish. All three rows of the MPV, which will be available in seven- and eight-seat configurations, get roof-mounted AC vents.

The Marazzo is powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 130hp and 300Nm of torque, and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, as the spy images show.

Mahindra dealers have unofficially started accepting bookings for an amount of Rs 10,000. The MPV will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (Rs 6.34-10.69 lakh) (the second-gen model is arriving soon) and the Toyota Innova Crysta (Rs 14.34-21.57 lakh), and will be priced between the two.
Vehicle looks good in that new colour. Is that a Green colour??

I liked the design. For a change, Mahindra has not gone overboard with a quirky design. It looks pretty neat, and simple. The trademark grill and the huge tail lamps, is looking a little out of place on this, but I think the design will soon grow into you. A good replacement for the Xylo, though its not exactly replacing it.
The interiors look quite premium, however, things that are worrying are the 1.5 liter Diesel engine which is expected to be powering it with 120hp of power. As it is a Mahindra, I am not expecting this vehicle to be light. With the size, I feel that the engine would be inadequate for the car, and am hoping that they would use the 2.2MHawk on the higher versions.

New Mahindra Marazzo MPV price Rs 10 lakhs – Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova rival

Mahindra has finally launched the Marazzo MPV in India today from a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakhs, ex-showroom. It is built at cost of $200 million (Rs 1,400 crores). The MPV has been positioned as a premium product and will take on the battle with the segment leader, Innova Crysta, Tata Hexa, and Martui Ertiga.

Mahindra is offering the Marazzo in 4 variants, namely M2, M4, M6 and M8, leaving the room for a M10 which may be launched later with a facelift. Like most Mahindra products, the nomenclature uses the first letter of the vehicle’s name and an even numbering sequence.

mahindra-marazzo-launch-price-india-1.jpg

Powering the vehicle is a new 1.5 litre diesel engine which has been developed in-house by Mahindra. The motor churns out 123 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Currently, only a 6-speed manual transmission variant is available, however an automatic / AMT version is expected to be launched later. It will only be offered as 2WD. Mileage claimed is 17.6 kmpl, ARAI certified.

Mahindra has tried to load the MPV with a ton of features, to make it capable of handling competition from Innova Crysta. The top of the line M8 comes with 17-inch machined alloy wheels, LED DRLs, front & rear fog lamps, projector headlamps with follow-me-home feature, cornering lamps, cruise control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, reverse parking camera, automatic climate control, cooled glovebox with illumination among many other features.

Prices and Variants

M2 – Rs 9.99 lakhs
M4 – Rs 10.95 lakhs
M6 – Rs 12.4 lakhs
M8 – Rs 13.9 lakhs

mahindra-marazzo-launch-price-india-2.jpg

These are introductory ex-showroom prices. Prices above are for 7 seater variant. For 8 seater variant, prices are about Rs 5,000 higher. Safety features are standard. Dual airbags, ABS is offered as standard. Built quality is world class. Ride quality is best in class. It has the quietest cabin in the segment. Mahindra claims you will not hear the diesel engine noise inside the cabin.

This is the second instance when Mahindra has designed a vehicle around a wild animal. Earlier, Mahindra had launched the cheetah inspired XUV500 in 2011 and even after 7 years of its launch, it is still currently one of its most loved and successful product. Mahindra hopes to repeat the feat with the shark inspired Marazzo.

With an aggressive pricing strategy, Marazzo undercuts its competition by a significant margin. If the vehicle or the pricing spikes your interest, you may head out to any Mahindra dealership where the vehicle is already available for test drives!
