SmartShift and Porter Announce their Intent to Merge

∙ Mahindra to invest a further amount of Rs 65 crore in the two entities

∙ Merged entity to optimise greater operational efficiency

∙ To result in a Pan India reach in the growing shared mobility space

Mumbai, February 23rd, 2018: SmartShift by Mahindra, part of the USD 19 billion Mahindra Group today announced an intent to merge with Porter by Resfeber Labs, India’s leading tech-enabled logistic solutions provider in the goods transportation space. This merger is subject to corporate and regulatory approvals.

Under the aegis of the merged identity, which would be called Mahindra SmartShift, both go-to market brands ‘Porter’ and ‘SmartShift’ will continue to service their respective customers and partner-drivers in order to optimise greater operational efficiency. This merger will help both SmartShift and Porter to spread out to a pan India presence in the shared mobility space.

This consolidation is likely to strengthen the joint objectives of SmartShift and Porter within a reasonable time frame. Mahindra has been keen to invest in the shared mobility space as a part of its strategy to promote and participate in sustainable mobility solutions, including promoting load aggregation digital platforms. This is with the objective of enabling improved livelihoods and lifestyles of people, thereby enabling them to RISE.

Mahindra would invest a sum of Rs 65 crore in the two entities which reinforces the group’s commitment in this space. This will result in significant business synergies as well as open up new vistas for this business. Pranav Goel will be the CEO of Mahindra SmartShift while Kausalya Nandakumar will work as interim Co-CEO to ensure smooth transition and integration of both the companies.

According to a report, the logistics industry in India is pegged at $130 billion with 35%-40% of it being in the intra-city space. It is also estimated that 18 lakh small commercial vehicles complete millions of transactions daily, across the country.

The vehicles were flagged off in the presence of Dr. Rajendra Jagtap, CEO - Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd (PSCDCL). The initiative aims at promoting connected, shared and electric mobility as a model in Pune, in line with the recommendations in the NITI Aayog report on the government’s 2030 vision. Mahindra Thar Wanderlust Spotted on Indian Roads for the First Time


At the Auto Expo 2018, Mahindra showcased its Thar Wanderlust and for the first time, the car has been spotted on road. The Thar Wanderlust is available as a customization kit for existing and new owners for Rs 13.8 lakhs. At the front, Mahindra Thar Wanderlust gets LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED turn indicators and off-road spec metal bumper. It also gets an electric winch and the new Thar also gets Mahindra’s signature 7-slat grille. The hood also gets custom graphic designs.

If you look at the side profile of the car, the first thing that will get your attention is the rear gullwing doors. The Wanderlust edition also gets high-mounted rear view mirror and silver-finished roof rails. At the rear, the car gets roof-mounted spoilers, two canisters and LED tail-lamps.


The Mahindra Thar Wanderlust is powered by 2.5-litre CRDe turbocharged diesel engine that produces 105bhp of maximum power and churns out 247 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Inside the cabin, the car gets dual-tone leather upholstery, Android-based touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting and sports pedal. It also gets head-up display and the side-facing-rear seats have been replaced with a front-facing bench seat. As per a report on the internet, the car has been made for the Royal family of Udaipur.

Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio & XUV500 to get many high-end features

The recently revealed Mahindra XUV300 will launch in the first half of February 2019. Following the introduction of the new compact SUV, M&M will release a couple of facelifts in the next calendar year. In 2020, the company will come up with big-ticket launches such as the next-gen Mahindra Scorpio (codename - Z101), next-gen Mahindra Thar, and next-gen Mahindra XUV500 (codename - W601).

Mahindra & Mahindra December Sales Up 1% at 39,755 Units

Homegrown auto major Mahindra & Mahindra Tuesday reported 1 percent increase in total vehicle sales at 39,755 units in December 2018. The company had sold 39,200 units in December 2017, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement.

Next-gen Mahindra XUV500 to come by end 2020

Mahindra has begun work on the second generation of its blockbuster SUV, the XUV500. Just like the first-gen model, the new Mahindra XUV500 will be monocoque-bodied but the platform will be all-new. The new XUV500 will replace the outgoing model, which has been refreshed multiple times since its arrival in 2011.

Mahindra to endorse Shell automotive lubricants under ‘Maximile’ brand
January 11, 2019:
Shell Lubricants, the global market leader in lubricants for twelve consecutive years, has announced a new strategic partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, a part of the USD 20.7 billion Mahindra Group.

Under this agreement, Mahindra and Shell will work together to offer market-leading, high-performance lubricant products, such as engine oils, transmission and axle oils, including those under the ‘Maximile’ brand. Mahindra Registers 60% Profit In Q3 FY2019, Total Revenue ₹ 1,470 Crore

Mahindra Group today announced its official financial results for the third quarter of the 2018-19 financial year. Between November and December 2018, the utility vehicle manufacturer's total profit after tax accounted for ₹ 1470 crore, registering a 60 per cent growth, against the ₹ 920 crore bagged during the same period last fiscal year. The company total revenue for the last quarter reached ₹ 13,235 crore, seeing a growth of 14 per cent from ₹ 11,594 crore earned in Q3 FY2018.

Indian utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra today announced its participation in a new road safety campaign - '1 Crore Haath Saath Saath'. The road safety campaign was organised by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), in partnership with the NGO Drive Smart Drive Safe (D2S). The flag-off event of the campaign saw 80 employees and 78 community volunteers formed an impressive human chain on the Western Express Highway, near its Kandivali plant, to educate drivers and pledge their commitment toward safe driving.

Mahindra TUV300 /KUV100 To Survive BS6 Transition; Other Models To Be Phased Out



After bringing 3 all-new products to market, the next 12 months at Mahindra will be focussed on the transition to the new Bharat Stage 6 or BS6 emissions regime. The three new products were the Marazzo, Alturas G4 and XUV300. At the launch of these cars Mahindra clearly stated that it has already built in a quick changeover to BS6 for them before the April 2020 deadline. But there has been a question on the older models.

Mahindra Introduces Premium e-Mobility Solution, Glyd, In India



Mahindra & Mahindra today announced the launch of Glyd, a premium tech-based e-mobility service in Mumbai on select routes. After having tied up with Ola for their e-mobility solutions platform, Mahindra has decided to lead the charge with its own initiative. Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra, flagged off the first batch of 10 e-Veritos, which will now be commissioned in the city. The cars will ply in BKC to begin with and will offer people a solution to reach their homes with no carbon footprints.
