With the new safety norms ready to be implemented from April 1, 2019 all the two wheeler brands in the country are in a hurry to equip their 125-cc and higher capacity engine motorcycles with ABS as standard. KTM Duke 250 is the latest bike in the list to be launched with ABS. KTM has offered a dual-channel ABS unit in the Duke 250.

The new ABS equipped Duke 250 is priced at Rs 1.94 lakh which is Rs 14,000 more expensive than the non-ABS version of Duke 250. KTM Duke 250 competes with bikes like Yamaha FZ25 and Honda CBR 250R in the segment. ABS will be mandatory on all two-wheelers with 125-cc or higher capacity engines from 01 April 2019. ABS is essential in all vehicles and is must in two-wheelers which tend to lose balance very easily in tricky situations.

KTM recently launched the BS6-compliant version of the 250 Duke at a starting price of Rs 2,00,576 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The 250 Duke was originally launched to bridge the sizeable gap between the 200 Duke and 390 Duke. The Austrian two-wheeler manufacturer recently updated the quarter-litre motorcycle to comply with the BS6 emission norms, but the transition has also brought a few notable changes along with it.

KTM Duke 250 BS6 Launched With Updated Headlight In India

The updated KTM 250 Duke will get the same full-LED headlamp cluster that the 390 Duke uses. Other than that, there seems to be no change to the motorcycle. The instrument cluster is the same LCD unit as before, and not the TFT display on the 390, to keep costs low.

With this minor facelift, the KTM 250 Duke is now priced at Rs. 2,09,280, an increase of Rs. 3,968 over the previous model’s price tag. The company is already criticised by fans for rolling out price updates frequently, which slowly makes the brand less accessible to buyers. At the moment, the most affordable KTM bike, the 125 Duke, also costs a whopping Rs. 1.42 lakh (all prices quoted are ex-showroom, New Delhi).
