Hi,, I am planning to drive from Kolkata to Chennai with family. Single driver.
Has anyone taken this route recently?

I need. Details of road condition, safety and good places for night stay.

A friend of mine took this route a couple of months ago, driving his Thar. He went up to Pondicherry. Please rest assured that the road is nice all the way.

Lunch@ Vizag and couldnt drive on as i felt bit tired.

Was confused over route to highway cost me extra hour

Reached chennai @2100hrs
Two food breaks
One fuel break
Two rest break

First long drive..Uneventful..

From your other post, I thought you were taking a break near Vizag (Tanuku)? It depends on the driving style / habits & a very early morning start on both days.

Yes you could do it if you are all by yourself. I was driving with a two year old on board so had to plan as many breaks to ensure complete comfort. All the best for your attempt, have fun!

1600 Kms in one go will be stressful if you are the only one driving throughout. If you are comfortable with munching such a long distance then go ahead and give us tips

Sir this is not my first trip...i have already done several long trip including Jaipur to Kolkata,Shilong to Siliguri,Kolkata to Goa(2 days).

Sanku (SwiftKolkata), Yes I know you have done previous long distance at one go without any night halts. But as always again cautioning you of the fatigue factor which humans get hit without any indication.

Driving for more than 18 hours is as dis reccomended as is speeding above 120kph.
