Hyundai's sales this month look strong only because the sales during July'14 had taken a sharp dip due to low despatches of the old i20 during that month. Excluding Creta and i20 numbers, all other models of Hyundai have seen a sharp drop in despatches. Lets see if it only due to production adjustment for the new model.

Tata Motors seriously needs to hire a new Ad agency & launch a mega brand promotion exercise before the new models are launched. They are investing thousands of crores in product development & other R&D, but it first needs to spend atleast Rs.1000 crores in brands promotion spread over a few months duration to change the company's image in the minds of general public. This investment, if successful, will give good returns to the company in the coming many years.

I really hope Renault pull up their socks and bring a face lift for Duster ASAP with better and feature packed interiors otherwise I am afraid Duster may not see good sales numbers in the near future.

With entry of Creta & Scross, Honeymoon is over for duster, Terrano, & ES, Now only price correction can help them as already they are overpriced. Despite being overpriced, people are ready to plonk their money on brand names of hyundai & Maruti as returns at the time of resale are certain than the Reynault, Nissan & fords.

It seems, Ciaz & city, Mobilio & Lodgy are also suffering due to creta & Scross.

The Zest and Bolt are not common sites on the road. I wish TML would get adds back about how value for money they really are. If Maruti could sell in semi-urban and rural areas Tata's with sturdy and easy to fix cars should not be far behind
I feel that they should sacrifice a bit of profit, price cars at a sweet spot where they are seen as v good value.
The 'Zing" around tata when K Slym was around seems missing-perhaps if they had a face-who regularly met auto journalists and kept them updated on things they are upto that could help?

Production

The industry produced a total 7,799,546 vehicles including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, three wheelers and two wheelers in April-July 2015 as against 7,661,366 in April-July 2014, registering a marginal growth of 1.80 percent over the same period last year.

Domestic Sales

The sales of Passenger Vehicles grew by 7.46 percent in April-July 2015 over the same period last year. Within the Passenger Vehicles, Passenger Cars grew by 10.68 percent while Utility Vehicles and Vans declined by (-) 0.32 percent and (-) 1.43 percent respectively during April-July 2015 over the same period last year

The overall Commercial Vehicles segment registered a growth of 5.63 percent in April-July 2015 as compared to same period last year. Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) registered a growth at 24.86 percent while Light Commercial Vehicles declined by (-) 5.24 percent during April-July 2015 over the same period last year.

Three Wheelers sales declined by (-) 8.41 percent in April-July 2015 over the same period last year. Passenger Carriers and Goods Carriers declined by (-) 9.25 percent and (-) 4.46 percent respectively in April-July 2015 over April-July 2014.

Two Wheelers sales registered a marginal growth of 0.52 percent in April-July 2015 over April-July 2014. Within the Two Wheelers segment, Scooters and Mopeds grew by 9.45 percent and 2.53 percent respectively while Motorcycles dropped by (-) 3.02 percent in April-July 2015 over April-July 2014.

Exports

In April-July 2015, overall automobile exports grew by 8.59 percent. Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, Three Wheelers and Two Wheelers registered a growth at 2.94 percent 24.37 percent 28.96 percent and 6.33 percent respectively in April-July 2015 over April-July 2014.

Ciaz and Ertiga are currently being discounted heavily, wish there was breakup on Scross figures. Ertiga generally has numbers of close to 6k so the numbers of Scross don't look good for a brand new car.

S Cross sales for August is 4500. Be aware Ertiga Facelift is due in October and its Diesel version will come in SHVS variant.
Expect a low sales figures for Ertiga with heavy discounts from dealers!

Only 3386 Ertiga sold then in the month of August that is huge drop. Also Ciaz i feel for people who bought the car 3 months ago, maruti has launched SHVS variant with lower price. The resale value for previous owners will go for a toss in long run i feel.

The difference is 1300 cars approx. Which means that:

nano which did around 2100 must have done 2500 levels and Zest which was did 1400 close to 2k mark. and few 100s bump in Bolt. Considering the old workhorses indica, indigoCS and vista sales constant.

Tata Motors sold 2382 Nanos in Aug'15, 11% more than Jul'15. In the Indica/IndigoCS/Zest/Bolt category, sales jumped 20% M-o-M to 7922 units. Lets see which model(s) have helped this improvement. Sumo sales were higher by 16% M-o-M at 916 units, but Safari sales dropped 40% to 602 units. Total Passenger vehicle sales jumped 11% M-o-M at 11,832 units.

the good thing is that tatas have exported 147 nanos, and 343 cars (zest bolt, vista indica) in aug 2015 against 0 nanos and 150 cars in 2014.

well the management pundits have not yet delivered tthe sales breakup so automotive as well as tbhp have not been able to come up with sales chart.
