Re: Isuzu V-Cross Facelift Now Launched

2019 Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross facelift spied for the first time in India

2019 Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross Facelift pickup truck is spied testing in India ahead of official launch in the country. The pick-up truck has already been launched in markets abroad. The test mule was under heavy camouflage.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross was initially launched in May 2016 while the facelift will make its way into Indian markets sometime in early or mid 2019. It will get more styling both where its exterior makeup and interiors are concerned while a more powerful diesel engine is also on the cards.

2019 Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross Facelift will see a new front grille and bumper design. It would ride on larger 18” wheels as were evident on the test mule while changes to the rear could include a new tail gate and rear bumper with integrated LED tail lamps. Minor changes to the interior will include an updated instrument cluster and new upholstery on seats and door liner.

Safety features seen on the earlier counterpart such as traction control and electronic stability control, LED DRLs and LED tail lamps will also be making their way into the facelift along with 6 way power adjustable driver seat, passive keyless entry and push button start/stop feature.

The biggest change on 2019 Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross Facelift would be the inclusion of a 1.9 liter diesel engine. This BS VI compliant engine offers 150 PS power and 350 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual or automatic transmission.

The D-Max facelift could also come in with a price revision which has not yet been revealed. The current model is priced between Rs 14.82-16.31 lakhs.

^^ I think this is expected with any vehicle - early it was a 5 year cycle for full upgrades, now its 3 year or so. Plus india as a market is behind international cycles traditionally. Everything changes with the direct move to BS6 now - every manufacturer has to comply to it for survival. We will see a lot more smaller engines and more move towards petrol as well - which is what the trend says.

Personally i find 2.5L Vcross as a perfect balance between 3 and 1.9 - in the remapped guise its far more potent. The 1.9 is yet to prove itself - 2.5 and 3 are absolute donkeys when it comes to reliability and durability - look at their history abroad and owners swearing by it, pure no fuss. Personally i dont miss anything from the face-lift except the traction control - but the unlimited mod ability give me other options. Mine is anyways heavily modded.

But having said all of the above, modern is modern and one has to embrace change - we need vehicles that pollute the planet less - hence smaller engines and fancy pollution control wizardry are the future. I also hope there is some competition to Isuzu in India, we need hilux and triton especially.

I hear that the V Cross might come with an automatic option. Now that would be a unique option for customers.... ease of driving + radical vehicle choice. That is unheard of in the Indian market!

BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, MU-X to cost Rs 3-4 lakh more

5_1_578_872_0_70_http___cdni.autocarindia.com_ExtraImages_20190820122954_New-Isuzu-D-Max-V-Cross.jpg

Ex-showroom prices of passenger vehicles, including the D-Max V-Cross pickup and MU-X SUV, are expected to shoot up by Rs 3-4 lakh, while those of commercial models such as the D-Max Regular Cab and D-Max S-Cab are set to rise by Rs 1-1.5 lakh. It is important to remember that Isuzu’s entire line-up is powered by diesel engines, which are more cumbersome to update to the new emission norms compared to petrol powertrains, thus leading to the steep rise in prices.
