Hyundai recently launched the Equus, a long-wheelbase luxury sedan, which is the largest and most expensive vehicle in the company's portfolio.

Move over BMW 7-Series and Mercedes S-Class, the Koreans are here. Hyundai has just brought out its latest competitor to the luxury limousine title match, an arena which till now has mainly been dominated by the Germans. Called the Equus, this long-wheelbase saloon that was just launched in South Korea is the largest and most expensive vehicle in Hyundai's portfolio. The Equus also brings a level of sophistication and luxury never before seen in the company's line-up.

Like its German rivals it was designed keeping passenger comfort in mind, offering unparalleled levels of interior space and luxury, and even overshadows some of its competition in overall length and rear legroom. Backseat passengers also get to enjoy substantial levels of opulence with the world's first power-driven footrest, seat leg support, relax posture and a massage system. Powering this luxury liner is the most powerful engine ever built for a Hyundai production car - a 5.0 litre V8 motor producing 400PS of power and 500Nm of torque. Hyundai has also developed a bulletproof version of the Equus and has already delivered three cars to the Korean President. Pricing for this stately sedan starts at 70,000 British pounds (Rs. 52 lakh).
