Seriously Hyundai? The 1.2l Kappa Petrol engine for the Venue? Its just about ok on the Grand i10. Feels sluggish on the Elite i20. Yes, its very refined and meant for sedate driving but falls flat everywhere else. Fast revving but not all all exciting to drive.
1l Turbo Petrol is not something to be excited about. Dual clutch automatic is good to have but we all know how DCTs fare in Indian conditions.
I have some apprehensions about GDI engines. Regarding carbon build up. And Hyundai/KIA are building GDI engines from a long time and GDI engines in general are known for carbon build up but have they re-engineered to solve this issue is a big question mark. I have never come across a VW GT TSI having carbon build up but again the cars that I came across are very few and under 50,000 kms driven.

This is a must watch video to understand more about GDI engines.

The front end looks nice and it brings up the character of the car but the rear end doesn't look more macho at all. Even the Elite i20 has some nice design then why wouldn't Hyundai think of any other design for its compact SUV. The rear end is more like the European.

Wonder what would be the reviews if tata had launched the exact same car.
Review of Tata venue
Front looks futuristic but weird and busy side resembles old tata cars and the back is copied from kwid. It doesn't have the stance of an suv
Interiors looks good but rear space and width is smallest in the segment.
Don't have auto irvm, adjustable steering
Biggest draw back is the anemic engines. Turbo charged engine has too much turbo lag and reliability of dct is unknown.

First in segment features? Chrome Outside door handles? Is that even a feature?
Previous Ford Ecosport had a 6 speed DCT but Ford replaced it with a 6 speed Torque Converter on the facelift cause DCTs have not fared well in our Indian Conditions.
As per the HD Display screen is concerned, it will be worth comparing against the Ford Sync 3 of the Ecosport.
Same goes for Wheel air curtains, doesn't make much of a difference.
Speed sensing or rather impact sensing Auto door unlock is good but does it have speed sensing Auto door look?

Well, that how Automotive advertisements work I guess

Does this car have basic feature like distance to empty and avg fuel consumption?
Don't think so because no cars with 1.2 kappa engine has that. 1 litre turbo will be an added reason to give this basic feature a miss.

Hyundai Venue: Interior Design And Features Explained

Unlike the dual-tone beige/black cabin of the global-spec Hyundai Venue unveiled at the 2019 New York Auto Show, the India-spec model gets single-tone black treatment, with off-white trims for pillars and roof. Also, there are brushed silver elements added to the air-con vents, the base of the gear lever, and steering wheel and inner-door handles. It's a standard 5-seater cabin and the overall design, however, is identical to the global-spec model. As for the seats, the Venue comes with matching black leather upholstery with a nice contoured design and white stitching along to edges to add a bit on contrast.
