Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT | 4 Years | 29,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Battery gave up. New one costed 3800rs after giving the old one for 900rs.
So the battery gave up after 32 months and around 30k + kms.

Pro rata system is not that much beneficial. Had to pay 3600rs for the new battery. The dealer told me new one is now 4600 rupees and thus i saved 1000rs. Don't know if he was telling the true rate

The Rs. 3,600 you spent seems to be good deal than what i got. In Sep 2017, at 64,000 + km, i paid Rs. 5,900 (after exchanging the Hyundai provided Exide), for my current a Red color Exide Matrix 75D23L (link). The Original Battery lasted for 57 months.

Got the car serviced at 73500 kms. It was more than a year since the last service.

Drove the car after a long period and the suspension seemed bad. Changed the front shocks plus the front brake pads lasted more than 40k kms since last change. Some pics.

Castrol sem-synthetic engine oil - 1400rs
Oil filter - 85rs
Air filter - 280rs
Front shocks set - 3350rs
Front Brake pads - 1180rs
Service labor - 350rs
Shocks labor - 400rs
Washing - 250
Wheel alignment - 250rs

I was checking my previous replies and found that the battery is 44ah. 70ah is overkill don't you think ? Plus how was he able to accommodate such a bigger battery. [surprise] it will start quickly since there is very little load for that battery. How much longer it will last , that's the main question.

Usually battery gives up between 30-36 months mark.

I strongly believe he chose the battery of diesel variant knowingly or unknowingly.

And how long that battery is going to last and the added advantage over the initial cost for a larger battery is something that time will tell

Its been 3 years since we have changed the battery , so far so good.
Its for VTVT verna we did this.
It has an extra subwoffer system in the rear , so higher mah battery ahs advantage over there too.

Cons- If car doesn't drive much (In our case monthly 1kkm is the minimal run) , I won't recommend this , as it takes more time to charge, as mah is more.

No harms to the ride, as the voltage is same.

For the past 4 years I am getting irritating sound from the rear suspension. I thought it must be the rubber spacers which I installed from after market. Sourced original pads from boodmo and yet the noise is coming. [frustration]
Even the suspension guy turned a blind eye when I told him noise didn't go away and he was clueless. Wasted 1000rs in total.

The car also developed a crack yesterday on its own. Something must have fallen on the windshield. Got the new windshield fixed from windshield expert. Total time taken was 6 hours since they were short on labor and windshield was somewhere else.

Paid 2400rs deductible and 200rs for interior vacuum.

Looks like a Coconut or something has fallen on the Glass.
Nice to see the beast back in action again.
