Winter driving can be difficult with the ice and snow covering the streets. A few tips can make your winter trip safer. Winter driving accidents often occur due to driving under pressure and increased speed. Try and give yourself extra time for reaching the destination. ne thing to keep in mind in winters is that you should go out only when you need to. Winter is not the time to hit the roads just for fun.

Purchase snow tires for your vehicle. At the minimum, you should buy two tires for front drive or then two for rear drive. Reduce the speed on winter stricken roads. Use of cruise control should be avoided because it limits the control that you have over the vehicle. Leave adequate space between you and the car in front of you. The distance should be at least three times the normal safe distance as recommended by The Weather Channel. Try and replace the windshield wiper blades with snow blades. This will help in enhancing traction and control.
