wait until amazon or flipkart gets stock
Amazon has got stock, but their rate is Rs.42, 970.. Don't know how much flipkart will ask when they come back with new stock. !

Now, thinking whether finalize the Asus Vivobook 14 X412DA-EK141T - 14'' display seems okay for me as presently am using 11.56'' screen (Asus x200CA). This one comes with backlit keyboard.
(Pay another 3000 and will get 8GB RAM)

But. otherwise how is the product looks like (in terms of features/specifications)?

Nope, 3rd party seller has it. Fulfilled seller sold last piece yesterday.

Working 10 hours daily on 11.56" screen? wow [shock]

I have already stated the limitations of it on my previous post, if you think it is suitable/okay for you then you can go ahead. RetailNet has stock so hopefully there will be no after sales service issues. [thumbsup]

Ok. understood.

Yes, since last 6 years (bought this one by mistake - just wanted a small unit to check /reply email's, so not seriously considered about size/capacity, etc. I paid Rs.19, 500 for this 500GB HDD/2GB RAM machine and it worked fine all these days except the battery dead in the 3rd year. Since then it functions only on direct current.)

Will wait till tomorrow, and then finalise one (if that 15X512 DA-EJ449) available by then, definitely go for that otherwise the 14 x412.-EK141T.

@CRACING - Have you heard about an online company TATACLIQ
Yes of course, my friends have bought some products from that site but it is same as Paytm mall, who manages with many different sellers.

The store has 512gb model of Asus 15 X512DA sold by "Selling 24x7" and "SSD" named seller. No idea about these sellers nor the store gives details about them.

Btw; X512DA-EJ449T is back in stock in flipkart and it is 11k more then HP 15Q-DY0008AU. I would say think again and decide. [:)]

Yes, I have seen that (I have received notification from Flipkart) (He is matching the rate with Amazon), but the seller is Onlinekings and not the one recommended by you (Retailnet)

Major differences, I can see, between the two (Hp 0008au - X512DA-EJ449T) are:

HP/Asus

RAM - 4GB / 8GB - expandable upto 12GB

Ports - 1XUSB 2.0, 2XUSB 3.1 / 2XUSB 2.0, 1XUSB 3.1, 1XUSB 3.0 Type C

Clock Speed: 2GHz with Turbo boost 3.6GHz / 2GHz with Turbo boost 3.7Ghz

Display: Backlit display / Backlit Antiglare, Nano Edge display

Keyboard: Normal/ Backlit keyboard

Considering above, Rs.11, 000 difference is worth a buy?

Yep, I have seen Onlinekings selling Asus laptops for a while. Hopefully he is reliable.

You can get 4GB ddr4 ram for 1.5k (add it to make 8GB total), ports are almost same except type c which is useful in future only, cpu 3500U is only ~10% faster then 2500U, both have LED-backlit FHD Antiglare display and finally ASUS has backlit keyboard. Kindly note, backlit keyboards are expensive to replace incase a key or two stops working after warranty. Key failure is common these days and my old Asus laptop's keyboard failed twice (One in warranty and again a year after).

Display light itself falls on keyboard to make it visible at night otherwise you can get USB led lamp like bhvm suggested or rgb keyboard mouse combo (They will be wired and bit expensive though).

So Rs. 11k isn't worth IMO. If it was half like 5-6k then I wouldn't mind.

Yes, I think it will be nice idea to buy USB led lamp which will serve the purpose.

No way, I am not going to spend 11k for couple of features. I thought, If I get a price around 38k (as it was quoted initially by RetailNet in Flipkart), then I will go for that model.

Just for knowledge, am now comparing HP 15q DY 0008AU with Asus Vivobook 15 X505ZA-EJ509T or EJ274T (all these models are recommended by you). The major difference is Hp 4GB RAM whereas Asus comes with 8GB RAM (otherwise not seeing much difference in description)

Asus EJ274T - Flipkart price Rs.35890 and Amazon Rs.34617 -so, the difference in price between HP & Asus is Rs.3900(flipkart) or Rs.2627 (amazon) - but then with flipkart seller, I can use No Cost EMI scheme which means I need not to spend full amount now.!

@CRACING - Before finalizing, I just posted the HPq DY 0008au description in other forum to see if any of the members there can give any opinion about the model

One comments recieved as under:

Your shortlisted laptop doesn't seem to have the minimum 802.11 AC wifi mode. Now that Wifi 6 802.11 AX is officially announced, you will have slow connectivity issues. My aging Toshiba Laptop has built-in wifi that works with 802.11AC. You will notice the difference when connecting to a NFS and transferring large files. .

+

I checked the description again and it says as 802.11b/g/n

Whereas, EJ449T and EK 141T described as : Wi-Fi 5(802.11ac) and IEEE 802.11ac

Is that going to be a problem in future?

@Nairrk 802.11n works upto 450Mbps and more that is only required if you transfer TBs of data but you should have same spec on other side. So do you use 802.11ac router? If not then don't worry about it. Incase you need 802.11ac in future, you can get a dongle which hardly costs 1k. As of 802.11ax, it is expensive tech currently and you won't get it in any entry-level or midend range laptops. Routers itself cost more then 20k!

Thanks your clarification - understood.

I am still trying to find out who are these 'Asuskart.com'' and how reliable, they are because they still selling the 449T at Rs.38, 500. Some site says that they are direct sellers of Asus Laptops and are based in Bangalore. It seems they only sell Asus Laptops and not other brands .!

Yeah, Asuskart is part of Gadgets World store which is located in Bangalore and they say they are authorized reseller. I have never heard this store name before nor dealt with them. However, reviews in google and justdial are positive so hopefully they are reliable. Contact and ask about stock.
