Hi, how do you check the oil level? get the scooter on the center stand, on a flat surface, and the engine needs to be cold, preferably stationary overnight, then check the oil level.

Moreover, if the oil gets mixed with engine, you should notice heavy to medium smoke from the exhaust, do let us know.
Yes sir I use the same method as you have advised for checking the oil level. Secondly no dense smoke can be seen but a sweet smell is present. Maybe there is no heavy smoke because of catalytic converter.

Hello everyone.
Sorry for not updating the thread for a long time. Was busy with my exams. Anyways the boy has completed 12489kms as of today. Thinking to change engine oil to synthetic. Which one would be the best? I have found Motul synthetic oils on Amazon costing around 700 bucks but it's grade is 10w40 while the manual recommends 10w30SJ. Now what should I do?

Here are some pics. Got the boy serviced. Headlight bulb as well as pilot lamp changed. The light dimming feature during honking has been finally recognised as a faulty alternator producing 12v when it should produce around 15-16 volts. Charges for getting it fixed will be around 500-600INR. Also removed the showroom fitted seat cover and yes, the seat feel more comfortable now, surprisingly. Anyways planned to get a seat cover made from a seat cover maker.

The new headlight bulb

The markings on the switches have vanished.[anger]

The mat. Bought it from a local shop for 100 bucks and it seems to be holding well.

Hey bhvm,
Thanks for your kind suggestion. But you see I am still a college student with no pocket money. So I will have to ask my dad for the funding and he will definitely refuse for it. So that is why it's not possible for me to convert to LED'S. But yes, I have thought of buying some DRL'S and installing them maybe sometime later but cannot think of a perfect position for them. Or maybe I would install DRL'S under the foot rest of the rider. Also they will cost me around 250 bucks for the whole installation process.

Hey bhvm,
Thanks for your valuable suggestion. I would definitely install Drl's sometime and your article will help me to so that task. Further I would like to post some updates.

Earlier the maximum speed which I was able to achieve on a straight road was around 85-87 km/hr with a single rider and full throttle but somehow yesterday I achieved a tip speed od 90km/hr with little bit of throttle still left. Can anyone help me to figure out how? PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT ENCOURAGING ANYBODY TO OVERSPEED. SPEED LIMIT SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED
Secondly the scooter stalls in traffic due to the fallen rpms. Do I need to get the carburetor adjusted?
And lastly, installed a new seat cover. It was handmade by a tailor( he makes seat covers) and costed me 220INR . Quality is almost top notch and the product is highly satisfying. Time taken- 30 mins.

The effect could be of Servicing. New oil has better lubricating properties, hence less friction & more speed! Also, The engines tend to open up nicely after some X Kms (10k for small engines 2 wheeler, 25~35k for car, 30~50k for large SUV ones)

Yesterday I was casually able to achive x80KMPH on Thunderbolt XUV thanks for Servicing & Empty roads!

Hello Guys,
I'm sorry for not updating the thread for a long time since I am busy with with my college studies and exam. I'll soon post the pics as soon as I'll reach my home. As of now my younger brother told me that someone has used a blade to cut the seat and it's a deep cut. The company's cover and the additional seat cover have been damaged and the foam is clearly visible. Any suggestions how to deal with it?

Thats sad
The repair guys usually tape a patch of rexine on the Cut (like fixing puncture), then install new top cover.

Update:
This scooter has completed 16800kms on 15th of March. Was serviced on 20th Feb. Usage has dropped a lot since my younger brother doesn't rides the scooter as much as I used to(his board examinations to be blamed) . As of now no problems are there except the light dimmimg one which was identified as a faulty alternator. It is costing me around 600 but the service centre guy suggested me to claim the insurance for this and get few pennies saved. Agreed with him and told him that I'll get the work done once I'll be back from my college. Regarding performance it is performing really well. As fpr the engine oil level continuously dropping I talked with service centre and they advised me to claim the warranty. What should I do?

abhi,
Your SVC is making confusing statements.
Alternator Poor performance is a Electrical issue. What will insurance do in That regards? Insurance is for Accidental damage only.

Oil levels dropping is a serious issue. It has to be fixed ASAP.
