There are pics in my inventory.Click over my name and then click on visit album in inventory.

Michelin does have 145/80R12 XM2 tires. Those are the really good, I didn't get Michelin when I changed mine so went with Bridgestone Turanza ER60, equally good in all aspects but high road noise.

If you drive at high speeds go for the 165/60R12 if you only do city driving go for 145/80R12.

Check the date of manufacture of the tires, should not be more than 2 months old and not more than 6 months if they are super rare tires.

Do a physical and visual inspection of the tires. Some tires come with sidewall bulges which is a manufacturing defect. You need to reject it at ASAP or else the dealer will blame it on you.
Thanks JarP....

Those pics were of real help...The GC seem to definately increased and the bulge seem to be normal as well....cn u, in general, tell by hw would the GC have increased based on ur exp...like by 1 or 2 inch frm the previous one tht u had...

Also does this mean tht yokohama tyres wld be wider but lower in GC...if yes do they bulg out a lot....

Not that much it was in mm, but then when I fitted the 2 inch spacers because of scrapping issue in the rear the GC increased more.

Both the 145/80 R12 and 165/60R12 tire will bulge on the stock rim.But on an alloy they will look like doughnuts, what people commonly refer to as balloon tires.

Thanks Jarpickle...

I wnt to knw which one of 145/80 R12 and 155/70R12 are taller..I am worried abt the grnd clearance as I recently bumped my car on a boulder underneath and gt a dent on the floor ....

I jst the tyres frm Yokohama..they hv only one option for 12 inch.... i.e165/60R12....is varun using the same brand...

@Varun pls help me choose betwn 155/70 and 165/60....

Thanks,
Since you are running on stock rims, 165/60 R12 cant be used as it wont fit onto it.

Better go with 155\70 R12, it gives you better ride quality and better grip. Please dont go for Goodyear's (worst tires). Michelin has introduced 155/70 go for them VFM.

If you go for 165/60R12 why not Potenza GIII.

Hybridjoyride:I brought the Kumho tires to your attention.

Potenza GIII is better than Yokohama. But Yokohama is lower in price makes for good vfm(value for money)
Yoko's just cost 150 - 200 rs less than the G3's. I would suggest to stick to G3's. Also availability of 12" alloys is difficult.

I have seen the yokohama 165/60R12 on the type 2 800 with stock rims and alto with stock rims.Do a test fit and check if it fits your rims.

If not you will have to go with alloys.

I think with the Kumho 165/70 R12 you will definitely need alloys wheels.

I was informed by the tire dealer that I cant fit 165's on stock rims.

Don't ever go for 165/70, as soon as you get this, the rear tire will rub the wheel arches even if there are only 2 people in the car.

I have a friend who is running on 165/60 r13 on his 800. He has the same issue.

He can use spacers Varun. The scrapping issue will be solved.

I have seen a Type 2 800 and Alto fitted with Yokohama A539 165/60R12 on steel rims.

Hybridjoyride, do a test fit and if you need alloys then you ca go for them.Else its not needed.

Thanks JP and Varun..

I dont mind installing spacers and going for alloy , however, if I am doing these modifications eitherways, thn cn I go R13... or is it tht R13 will always foul inspite of hvng spacers...

Also If i go fr R13 wht would be the best tyre size fr 800...any suggestion...

Thanks
