Re: Hyundai Grand i10 mileage

Its comparitively good mileage for grand i 10 sir.
As its a hyundai ,its a performer's ride ,and mileage is a word which should not be taken into account .But as Indians,as you told -Kitna deta hai ,is a comment which is regularly addressed.
The mileage status will improve and show constant value when first oil change is done.

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 mileage

I had read on some forum that Indian customers didn't like Kappa series engines because of poor mileage. I am not Hyundai lover , honestly, but I wrote this post to invite technical arguments and real experiences of kappa users. Maruti Swift had been rated higher than Grand i10 in many forums wining more points on mileage, steering performance and fun to drive, I've used both the cars and can't differentiate on performance, in-fact observed grand i10 a bit better on very lower torque, in very few words one has to learn driving grand i10 and it's not as user friendly as Maruti Swift. The only remaining specification was mileage and I've always been in opinion that it completely depends on your driving style. I've many friends on this forum who complains about swift's mileage as they are observing 12-15 in city conditions. As far as my knowledge goes cars <1.5 ltr engines have a 10K KMs break-in period, so I believe it's yet to get more free and smooth in next 5K KMs for my Grand i10 thus may expect some more miles/ltr in coming days. [:D]
PLS NOTE: I am not comparing swift vs Grand i10 ,and the intention is to correct misunderstanding regarding Kappa engines.

Purchased Grand I10 petrol in November[:D] and went on a long drive for around 500 kms previous week[:D], My Grand I10 gave FE of 16 Kmpl. This drive was 80% Highway & 20% City and we used AC most of the time in this drive.

SA said I would be getting 18-19 in highways, Grand I10 owners please update me on the mileage.

Thanks.

I have i10 kappa2.
City -11-12 kmpl
Highway -16 kmpl

Used my cousin'ss Grand i10 for 4 good months regularly.
City - 12-13 kmpl
Highway -16-16.5 kmpl

These figures are with AC 60% roughly.

I'm using the face-lifted Grand i10 petrol model. During the first 500 kms , mileage was hovering around 13.5 kmph mark thanks to my poor driving skills since this is my first car and i'm still learning.

Recently took a highway trip and mileage has improved quite well. Was able to extract ~ 20 kmpl with AC on. Speed was maintained between 60 -70 kmph.

Update :
My car has covered 1300 kms and due for first service.

Did a few more highway trips. The last highway trip( 350kms) was on state highways with little to no traffic maintaining speeds between 60-85 kmph with 50% ac. Was able to manage 21 kmpl. What i have noticed is that fuel efficiency of Grand i10 drops significantly in two conditions. A) speeds above 100 kmph B) Frequent gear changes in Traffic. My city mileage( no bumper to bumper traffic) is around 14 kmpl. The best cruising speeds on Grand i10 for both Mileage and comfort is 80-90 Kmph.

I am having Grand I10 Petrol Facelift driven around 2900 km. I am getting between 15-16 km/l mileage on highway with 90-95% AC (checked using tank full method multiple times). Speed is around 80-110 km/hrs.
In city drive I am able to get 13km/l till date.

For a brief period of time i was getting around 20KMPL which seems to have dropped lately . Perhaps because my driving habits have changed and these days i'm maintaining tire pressure around 30 PSI compared to 38 PSI in the past( filled by dealer). On two lane Kerala highways i'm getting between 15-16 Kmpl with 100% AC. Kerala highways sees a lot of traffic and i usually maintain speeds between 80- 95 kmph. Overall fuel efficiency after 4500 kms stands at 14 kmpl which includes City + Highways. AC is used 100% of time.
