Micra look's much better with this face lift and the color is stunning, also read somewhere that the changes will also be carried over to it's interiors.

If the Nissan Micra was not on your ‘prospective car’ list because of its feminine styling, we have some good news for you.

New Nissan MARCH - YouTube

Nissan has recognized that it needs to make the Micra more masculine to keep the male buyers happy. Thus, the Japanese giant has facelifted the Micra for an aggressive and sharper design language.

We have already shown you some images of the facelifted Micra a few days back. Turns out that those images were taken during the TV commercial shoot. Here we have the full TV commercial for your viewing pleasure!

Sadly, the TV commercial is in Thai which is Greek to us. But we can deduce that the facelifted Nissan Micra has been endowed with –
◾A completely revised front fascia with new front bumper, new headlamps and new fog lamps.
◾A redesigned rear fascia with a set of new LED tail lamps and a rear spoiler
◾A blackened center console
◾A new ‘sparkling green’ color option

The redesign efforts have certainly helped the facelifted Micra to move away from its feminine image. We can’t say it is as pretty as the Punto or as classy as the Polo, but it is a definite improvement over the current design.

The 2014 Nissan Micra will continue to use the 1.5 litre K9K diesel or the 1.2 litre petrol motor. Nissan ‘might’ have made some improvements to both the engines to juice some more kmpl out of them. The transmission will be a 5-speed manual or (if we are lucky) a X-CVT automatic. Prices will most definitely be revised upwards.

We believe the facelift should come out sometime in the next three months.

Liked that central console, hope it comes with a better grade plastic
Two times we were in the verge of taking Micra, eventually they are 2 i20 guys now. Main reason was the central console and the fulgy HU that had no USB feature. Now they are taking it the right way [clap]

at the showroom he told the guys that it looks odd [:D] and they said " no sir it's top quality plastic and people are buying the car just because of this interior"

Nissan March (Micra) to get supercharged 1.25 litre engine

It’s just been a week since we posted about the Nissan Micra Facelift. Now it’s being reported that the Nissan March (rebadged Micra in China) would be getting a 1.25 supercharged engine.

Slated to debut at the Shanghai Auto Show next month, the new supercharged 1.25 engine would pumping a full 100 horses while retaining the economy and emission figures pretty much similar to the smaller variant. Forced induction comes with its own set of advantages! The 1.25 should be available with a CVT transmission or maybe a 5-speed manual box.

Cost-down Nissan Micra project on hold temporarily?

Regular all know that a low cost version of the Nissan Micra is in the works. The car was being developed alongside the Micra facelift project.

We brought you spyshots of the car testing in and around Chennai. The hatchback is expected to be significantly cheaper than the current car and would be down-segmented to make way for the upcoming Nissan Micra facelift.

However, according to our sources, the low cost Micra project, codenamed G02A, is temporarily put on hold. The exact reasons for the decision is unclear but we reckon that the cost cutting measures have left the car with room for improvement.

We also learn that, contrary to the previous reports, only a petrol engine was planned in the low cost version initially. The diesel variant was to be introduced after monitoring the customer response for the petrol version.

Another probable reason for the stagnation could be the development of Nissan’s version of Duster. Nissan is very keen in bringing their own version of the mini SUV by the end of this year and that could have relegated the low cost Micra to the backburner.

Whatever the reason may be, the low cost Micra’s launch would take longer than expected. We wish to see the car with the 1.5 litre K9K diesel engine right from day one.
