Ducati India has been quiet for a while now thanks to the new BS6 emission norms and the Coronavirus lockdown which has knocked the wind out of the Indian auto industry. But with other premium motorcycle manufacturers like Harley-Davidson, Triumph Motorcycles and BMW Motorrad launching new models, Ducati too is ready to get back in the game. The company recently put out a teaser image of a fuel tank on its social media along with the words 'Coming Soon'. The motorcycle in question is the Ducati Panigale V2 or the baby Panigale, which will replace the 959 Panigale in India, having already done so in western markets.

As far as technical specifications are concerned, the Panigale V2 gets a Euro 5 compliant 955 cc Super-quaddro L-twin engine which makes 155 bhp at 10,750 rpm and has a peak torque output of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The USP is that the motorcycle has a dry weight of just 153 kg. So the power to weight ratio is going to be insane.

Pre-bookings open for the Ducati Panigale V2, ahead of its India launch

  • Ducati opens pre-booking for its first BS6 bike, the Panigale V2 in India
  • Customers can visit their nearest Ducati store to book the bike for INR 100,000

20th July 2020, New Delhi (IN)
: Luxury Motorcycle Manufacturer Ducati India today announced the opening of bookings for its first BS6 motorcycle, the Panigale V2 in India. The Panigale V2 is an all new motorcycle from the ground up and will become the entry model into the revered Panigale superbike family.

To cater to the soaring demand of BS6 Ducati motorcycles, Ducati India is accepting bookings for the all new Panigale V2 for an initial amount of INR 100,000. Customers can book their Panigale V2 at their nearest Ducati dealerships till the current stocks last. The deliveries for the Panigale V2 will begin soon after the launch and it will be available on display across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata, and Chennai. Test rides for the new Panigale V2 will also begin shortly after the launch, under the ‘Ducati Cares’ program which ensures the practice of all safety measures to tackle the current covid-19 situation.

Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India said, “The Panigale V2 has been the most awaited bike since EICMA and we eagerly waited to bring this ultimate superbike as our first BS6 motorcycle for the Indian motorcycle enthusiast. The new Panigale V2 is a beefy yet compact bike with clear-cut lines that convey power without compromising on the classic Ducati superbike flair. Considering the overwhelming inquiries for launch of the Panigale V2, we are confident the bike will do well in the market by offering an unmatched Ducati riding experience to enthusiasts who’re looking to step into the world of riding on the racetrack and also to more experienced riders.”

Unlike the outgoing model, the Panigale V2 features a single-sided aluminium swingarm, the hallmark of every high-end Ducati superbike. Gently moulded around the refined monocoque frame, the extensive fairing highlights the more compact twin-cylinder Superquadro engine (smaller in comparison to the Desmosedici Stradale), creating a bike that is visibly leaner and less intimidating than the Panigale V4.

The motorcycle will be launched in India very soon, and more details will be shared at the time of its launch. Stay tuned!

Ducati Panigale V2 Launched In India; Priced At ₹ 16.99 Lakh

The Ducati Panigale V2 now goes on sale in India at a price of ₹ 16.99 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new supersport from Ducati is aptly called the baby Panigale and takes its design cues from the mental Panigale V4. The Ducati Panigale V2 is the first BS6 compliant motorcycle to be launched by Ducati India and replaces the 959 Panigale in India and the world over. For reference, the Ducati 959 Panigale was priced at ₹ 14.74 lakh when it was on sale.

The Ducati Panigale V2 uses a 955 cc L-Twin super-quadro motor which makes 155 bhp at 10,750 rpm and has a peak torque output of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. In comparison to the 959 Panigale, the peak power and torque go up by 5 bhp and 2 Nm. Ducati says that more than 70 per cent of the torque is available from 5,500 rpm, which means fast corner exits now become easier.
