Hello Guys,
It's time for the first upgrade for DRACO. We are looking to change the speakers of the car. Looking for a good component system backed up with a amplifier.
Don't want to put a bass tube because it will take a lot of space. And it will be a pain to move the bass tube every time we put luggage in the car. Also moving the bass tube frequently might lead to loosing of the wires.

Our budget is around 20K for this upgrade. And we have shortlisted the following brands so far for the speakers.
Speakers
1. Kicker Rs. 6000/- (These are 180 watt each)
2. Rockford Rs. 6200/-
3. Infiniti Rs. 5800/-
4. JBL Rs. 5500/- (approx)

These prices are for set of two speakers.

Amplifier
1. Kenwood Rs/- 5500
2. Sound Barrier Rs/- 4000
3. JBL Rs/- 3500

Also what kind or brand of RC converter will be a good one to put with the system.

re: DRACO -XUV 5OO W8: NOW ICED.

There is a set of RCA's at the HU already. It only work on the front L/R channels. If you want to use the EQ function on the HU (back L/R channel) then you need to at a Hi to Lo converter.
I have installed two 8" woofers under the front seats. It's working quite well.

How much power can those RCA's support.

And what kind of woofers are you using, what was the cost of those woofers. Can you post a pic of the same?

I don't know the power rating of the RCA's.
The woofers are Pioneer TS-W201. It is an old set I used a couple years back. Still in good condition.
The dimension of the box is 400(L) x 300(W) x 150(H). These are the outside measurements.

Singh, a cousin of mine has a W8 too and he says that people dont know how to install speakers on the XUV. As for the speakers, I would suggest the Rockford Punch series with Infinity Amps.

Singh Saab,

Price looks good.Or else,go for Hertz Speakers.Hertz Speakers are just excellent than other Speakers.
Will tell my bro to get a quote for them and see the quality as well.

My brother is going to Delhi next week, so most probably he will get the speakers installed next week. So far he is onto Rockford.

re: DRACO -XUV 5OO W8: NOW ICED.

Finally i got my DRACO ICED. Everything was done back in Feb but didn't had time to put up the details as i was busy.

First thing that i would tell all my fellow XUV owners - Don't go to any random shop if you want to install new speakers. XUV has a no. of features hence accompanied with no. of wires. So find someone who has already worked on it. Don't let anyone use you as a guinea pig.

Budget was under 20K.
What did i get:
Component Speakers - 2 set Kicker component speakers (180 watts each)
Means 4 speakers with tweeters. Rs 11000 (was quoted 12000)
Amp -BLAUPUNKT (330 watts) Rs 4000 (Was quoted 4800)
Wiring - Rs 950
Converter - Rs 2100

Total Paid- Rs 17300

How are the Kicker components you have installed on in your front side? At Rs6000 it seems a good price right and a VFM product.

So this means you got 4 speakers plus tweeter?
How many speakers does XUV originally have from OEM?
