DIY: Headlamp Bezel Painting in My Swift

I've painted the headlamp bezel of my Swift black. Here are the pictures.

The bumper is removed first to unscrew the headlamp assy.

The bezel was attached to the assy. with the help of two screws.

The silicon gum was softened by blowing hot air at the edges(300- 400 degrees). Then a flat-tip screw driver was used to open the headlamp assembly.

First coat. The indicator reflector was masked using masking tape.

After the third coat and masking tapes removed.

Hot air gun was used to soften the silicone gum.

Can you post some snaps without reflections? It is not clear in the last snap.

WOW !!!. Nice work. I never thought it can be done by ourself . good work. How did you manage to remove those head light in multiple parts.

Looks cool ACMohan.. BTW how did you manage to remove the reflectors, I taught it was molded one !!

I used a hot air gun to melt the silicone gum.Then a flat tip screw driver was used to remove the back cover from the glass. The bezel was screwed on to the front glass.

Wow! Amazingly neat and innovative work ACMohan.
Do post more pics of the results. The one you have posted has reflections on the Headlights making it inconvenoent to see the results of the job.

The end result looks very sweet what about the rear light's any plans for that too?

Thanks Appu. Yeah, assembled that again. No leaks till now.
Local mod shop quoted Rs 3000+ for the same job. And I spent just its half. [;)]

AC, i am seeing the similar thread in the other forum. Just confirming if they both belong to you and someone has not captured ur Idea.
