Hello friends, this is my current DIY for my friend who owns a Fiat Uno.

His gear boot plastic frame was broken. You people know that the Uno parts are difficult to get. He searched for the gear boot, but never found a good one. So am going to help him. I am only making the plastic frame for it. The leather part can be reused.

Started detaching the plastic frame parts

Now i have to make the legs which holds the frame in the center console.

I made four legs out of the plastic sheet. but in the power test they failed.[cry]

So I searched for other material and found one metal sheet. The plan was to cut and make the legs and rivet it with the plastic sheet.

I used this aluminum rod to rivet it.

sorry friend i couldn't take photos of the riveting process. the process is like, insert the aluminum rod through the hole and hammer the two ends of it. quite easy process but need patience.

I bought the dremel tool from Hypercity at Marathahalli here in bangalore. If you want to buy check out this link. RCHobbyAddict. they have the dremel tool collection.

Thank you.

Hey buddy, whats the status of your DIY? no updates from quite some time.
Sorry Libran, my friend had taken the boot to Kerala. He said it is fitting properly after grinding down the edges little bit. The leather part was fixed with the frame after that. I will surely post the pictures if he sends.

Thank you for the interest taken friend.

Hey did you buy the Dremel tool?

Congratulations for successful DIY. Also post some exterior images of his Uno. It was a solid car, but used to look much like Maruti 800 from rear to me.
