Re: clarification on high range, mid range , low range

In a petrol car,
1000-3000 rpm is low range.
3000=5000 rpm is mid range.
Above 5000 rpm is high range.

In a diesel car,
1000-2000 rpm is low range.
2000-4000 rpm is mid range.
Above 4000 rpm is high range.

The above are just approx figures to make you understand, nothing is defined as such.

There are three main ranges in revving. They are low range, mid range, and high range.

For Petrol cars:
1.) 1000-2500rpm=low range.
2.) 2500-4000rpm=mid range.
3.) 4000above rpm=high range.

For diesel cars:
1.) 1000-2000rpm=low range.
2.) 2000-3500rpm=mid range.
3.) 3500above rpm=high range.

Cars are equipped nowadays with different power and torque at different ranges. While cars like SX4 and Honda city are good performers at mid range, cars like ford fiesta are good performers at high range. There are some torquey cars that are good performers at low range also. The more practical usage of power would be in the mid range only.

Keep Revving,
hvrudhula.
