Re: Scoop! Chevrolet Trail Blazer For India

The price 26.40Lakh for 4x4 or 4x2, and MT or AT? This is relatively high compared to Toyota Fortuner. Price of Trail Blazer is lower here in middle-east when compared to Fortuner.
Going the CBU route has made trailblazer costlier. Wondering why they have launched only one variant?

This price is for the 4*2 AT and this is a high price if we consider the reputation of Chevrolet and the rivals this car has to stand against.

Re: Chevrolet Trail Blazer Launched in India @ Rs.26.40 Lakh

Friends,

Here is the official coverage of the New Chevrolet Trailblazer launch held today at Gurgaon. I am very thankful as always to TAI for providing me this opportunity. The Trailblazer shall come to India as CBU as CKD for Chevrolet was not a viable option due to the volumes that this segment in general generates. The Trailblazer would be available on Amazon for next 5 days. The media was addressed by Mr. Arvind Saxena (President and MD, GM India) and Mr. Jack from GM India.

Re: Chevrolet Trail Blazer Launched in India @ Rs.26.40 Lakh

On-Road price of 2015 Trail Blazer here in Kuwait is 7555KD (16.24Lakhs) with the following features. Cost of Indian version is very high with limited features.
  • ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) prevents the wheels from being locked in emergency braking.
  • EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) ensures optimal distribution of braking force.
  • TCS (Traction Control System) saves the wheels from spinning freely.
  • ESC (Electronic Stability Control) improves stability as the vehicle cruises forward.
  • PBA (Panic Brake Assist) effectively handles challenging sudden braking.
  • CBC (Cornering Brake Control) increases stability when brake is applied while cornering.
  • HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) increases brake fluid pressure when needed.
  • HBFA (Hydraulic Brake Fade Assist) works to ensure the ideal brake fluid pressure.

Re: Chevrolet Trail Blazer Launched in India @ Rs.26.40 Lakh

Nice!!!! it looks promising but the price is quite high for the said features and with the GM badge i don't think it will sell volumes. however having said that i am a fan of a great car from GM India stable the cruze it simply is awesome. lets hope that this car does wonders for GM.

hows the last row it looks a bit cramped but better than Ertiga. that's what i could sense from the photos however you were there so what is your take on the last Row.

So Friends, now the actual launch event begins. Actually, I got the car to click pics about 30 minutes prior to launch. Therefore, I could spend some extra time with the beast.[:D]

On-Road price of 2015 Trail Blazer here in Kuwait is 7555KD (16.24Lakhs) with the following features. Cost of Indian version is very high with limited features.
That's because CBU cars attract 125% customs duty[surprise] and extra

  • Landing charges (1% CIF)
  • Countervailing duty (30% (CIFD + Landing charges) + INR20000.00 per pcs)
  • CESS (3% (Duty + CEX (Education & Higher Education CESS) + Countervailing duty))
  • Additional Countervailing Duty (4% (CIFD + Landing charges + Countervailing duty + CESS + CEX (Education & Higher Education CESS)))
On top of this, the company has to give dealers heafty margin!
Kuwait has just 5% custom duty - that's it.

Oh come on Chevrolet! Thats one butch looking SUV, and thats it. High price tag (CBU route) and missing equipment (just 2 air bags, no 4X4, no keyless, no navigation etc) will probably make this dead on arrival. What are you guys thinking? Dont you want any business from India? Are you just happy and celebrating with your business in China?

Watch your words dude.

And don't just blame company for high price tag. Over Govt. is also responsible. See above post of yours, there are so many taxes here and do you think our country has improved? I don't think so!

Re: Chevrolet Trail Blazer Launched in India @ Rs.26.40 Lakh

at cracing it could have been assembled here also in thier plant if they wanted to reduse the cost. however i agree any cbu's for that mattter are costlier in india and eventhough we like it the price tag puts us off.
