Below the new service schedules​
6months/5000km ----- 6 months/7500km
1year/10000km ----- 1 year/15000km
1.5year/15000km ----- 1.5 year/22500km
2year/20000km ----- 2 year/30000km
2.5year/25000km -----2.5 year/37500km
3year/30000km ---- 3 year/45000km
3.5year/35000km ---- 3.5year/52500km
4.year/40000km ---- 4.year /60000km
4.5year/45000km ----- 4.5year/67500km
5year /50000km ----- 5year/75000km

Not sure on the ripping part. Could be possible that they have started using a better engine oil and other fluids that might last longer than the earlier ones. Or it could altogether be a marketing strategy to attract more customers.

i was going to say the same. hyundai also have changed the service schedule. now it's 10000 kilometers for santro and i10 but only 6 months.

as far as i can remember in 2010 it was 5000 kilometers. so yeah i also think engine oil has been upgraded.

just checked the owners manual for diesel on Chevy website and it shows the old schedule. so the change only for petrol model. As per owners manual on website and hardcopy on my hand shows the same engine oil 5W30API SM GF4 ,I think its a synthetic oil.

Checked with GM customer care ,it applies to diesel as well.

today done 1st. year /15000km service for my beat petrol

engine oil 5w30 API SM GF4 =1110 INR
filter asm. oil =73.13 INR
gasket =13.50 INR
total amount including taxes = 1364 INR


ac filter was out of stock and costs around 600 INR
