CEAT Tyres forays into contactless service offerings during pandemic

· Launches pick and drop facility for vehicles servicing

· Also introduces appointment-based service at CEAT Shoppes

· All safety measures to ensure customer safety and business continuity

· Select CEAT shoppes will provide service in 22 cities across India

New Delhi , 20th July 2020
: CEAT tyres has introduced new measures to ensure safety of its customers and business continuity for its dealer partners. The new services offerings include contactless pick & drop service, appointment-based service and in-shop measures undertaken at the Shoppe. Doorstep services are also being offered in prime metropolitan areas to ensure that vehicles are serviced, sanitized and ready for the road. These initiatives not only take care of all tyre-related issues of the customers safely and efficiently, but also ensure regular business for the CEAT shoppe partners. The services are launched in a phased manner across India and will be available in 22 cities in the next 7 days.

As per CEAT’s contactless pick-up and drop facility the vehicle is picked up from the customer’s doorstep, the required service is provided at a CEAT Shoppe, and the vehicle is then dropped back to the customer’s place. This facility ensures that customers receive reliable services without stepping outside their homes. The appointment-based service reduces wait time to a large extent wherein customers give a missed call on 8657589639 to book an appointment at the nearest CEAT Shoppe. They can then visit the CEAT Shoppe at the allotted time and avail the services. This practice will considerably decrease the chances of physical contact with others. The company is also looking to introduce a WhatsApp based service, wherein queries can be answered, and appointments can be booked through a WhatsApp message.

Commenting on this, Amit Tolani, Chief Marketing Officer, CEAT Tyres Ltd said, “CEAT is fully committed towards ‘Making Mobility Safer and Smarter’. At a time when the country is battling the coronavirus threat, safety and convenience of our customers is of utmost importance. The introduction of a contactless service showcases our commitment to maintaining safety norms and hygiene at our CEAT Shoppe. The Shoppe comes with a capability/is designed in a way to address all of customers’ vehicular needs with the highest safety precautions in place. The intent is twofold, to make tyre maintenance safe and easy for customers and to ensure business continuity of our dealer partners.”

Lastly, as part of maintaining hygiene in the ‘new normal’ world, CEAT Shoppes are sanitized daily before opening and all customer interaction areas are cleaned at regular intervals throughout the day. Customers are also scanned at the entrance and provided with liquid hand sanitizers. The company also encourages digital payments for a contactless experience. All the vehicles are sanitized before and after service. The safety initiatives undertaken by CEAT aim to take care of all tyre-related issues safely and efficiently.

CEAT Tyres & Royal Enfield celebrate Friendship Day with #FriendsOnTheRoad campaign
  • Launches a social media campaign to acknowledge the fruitful long-standing alliance between the two

New Delhi,01st August 2021:
CEAT Tyres, India’s leading tyre manufacturer, has been a partner on the road for Royal Enfield, the oldest continuous-production motorcycle manufacturer. To celebrate their long-standing association, both brands came together on social media on Friendship Day with a spirited #FriendsOntheRoad campaign.

The integrated campaign includes a video and a Twitter banter between the two brands. The video highlights that the destinations might change but #FriendsOnTheRoad don’t. It showcases how both the brands complement each other and like true friends, stick together through thick and thin, no matter what surprises the road may have for them. A friendship this strong also inspires people to seek out their next adventure. The video also plays the message of “the wheels of safety” that characterises CEAT and “the wings of adventure”, which is Royal Enfield’s signature.

Royal Enfield and CEAT also interacted with their followers on social media through a creative Twitter (https://twitter.com/CEATtyres) conversation that celebrated special connection between the two brands in a playful manner. The conversations were later joined by some noted influencers on the Twitter and Instagram pages of CEAT where people cherished their travel memories with friends.

Commenting on this association, Mr. Amit Tolani, Chief Marketing Officer, CEAT Tyres, said, “We have a strong relationship with Royal Enfield and feel humbled to be their #FriendsOnTheRoad. No better occasion than Friendship Day to affirm our association that has only cemented firmly with time. We look forward to many such Friendship Days with Royal Enfield in the years to come.”

Recently, CEAT Tyres supplied Royal Enfield with Zoom Cruz tyres for the 650cc Interceptor range. With this, CEAT also marked its entry into the 650cc segment for a two-wheeler, and the twin-engine cylindrical motorcycles segment. CEAT is also the first Indian manufacturer to supply tyres as original fitment for the Interceptor 650cc range. CEAT‘s association with Royal Enfield can be seen on most of their OE fitment models like the Meteor, Classic, the Himalayan and the Bullet Electra.

CEAT Launches Tyres With Coloured Tread Wear Indicator

Having tyres with proper treads plays a major part in road safety with the treads designed to help tyres find traction on a multitude of surfaces and driving conditions. The question that arises though is how you know when your treads are too worn out. While most tyres do come with wear indicators – tiny elevations within the longitudinal grooves of the tyres – CEAT has come out with another solution with its new Color Tread Wear Indicator tyres.

“Consumer insight studies revealed that most of the users are not aware of when to change the tyres. Driving worn out tyres could be unsafe for them and everyone around on the roads. We have come up with an innovative product with Colour Tread Wear Indicator technology with an aim to make our customers aware of the time to change tyres for safety,'' said Ankur Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer, CEAT Tyres Ltd.

The new Color Tread Wear tyres feature a yellow strip embedded within the tyres that becomes visible as the treads wear out suggesting that the tyres are due for a replacement. The strip is not visible on new tyres.

Currently the coloured tread wear indicators will only be available on CEAT's Milaze X3 tyre range in two sizes – 205/65 R15 and 205/65 R16.

Ceat introduces different sizes of EV tyres specially designed for electric buses

small_1_2022_08_22_T13_36_28_001_Z_369df34dec.jpg
Ceat tyres has introduced Winenergy X3-R tyres specially built for electric buses which are being progressively rolled out on urban roads. The manufacturer claims that the tyres’ features have been tested for ride and handling and had proven in EV fleets across the country.

The EV tyres will be available in two sizes- 295/80R22.5 and 225/70R22.5 .

According to Ceat, its recently released EV-specific tyres satisfy the prerequisites for electric vehicles. For increased power delivery from the electric motor, these tyres have a tubeless, all-steel construction. For greater mileage, they also have low rolling resistance. Better rigidity and tyre traction, noise-dampening FaF, and tread-buckling resistance BRIC-T are further features. These tyres also include a special circuit design, a larger contact, and stronger sidewalls. These features were all deliberately incorporated to these tyres to improve traction and provide reliable performance in all conditions.

“Indian cities can look forward to the further deployment of electric buses which provide for a sustainable, air and noise pollution-free transit for commuters. With the launch of CEAT’s WINENERGY X3-R EV tyres we are pleased to be able to offer tyres specifically designed for our EV OEMs, and to help in making urban transport cost-effective, cleaner, and smoother,” said Arnab Banerjee.

CEAT SportRad, CrossRad tyres launched; prices begin at Rs 4,300

20240120013832_CEAT.jpg

CEAT Tyres has launched the SportRad and CrossRad series of steel radial tyres for motorcycles in the replacement market. The SportRad is designed for sporty road use, while the multi-terrain CrossRad caters to daily commuters as well as a bit of off-roading. Both have a steel-belted radial construction.

The SportRad is available in the following sizes as of now – 110/70 R17 and 150/60 R17. Additional variants of SportRad (SS and ST) will be launched after July catering to premium, multi-cylinder bikes with sizes ranging from 160-section, all the way up to 240-section. The SportRad is priced at Rs 12,500 for a set.

CEAT 2.jpg

The CrossRad is available only in the following size for now – 140/60 R17. The CrossRad AT will be available in sizes ranging from 130-section, up to 180-section with a slightly different tread pattern and will be launched at a later date. The CrossRad has an asking price of Rs 4,300 for a set.

CEAT isn't the only Indian tyre OEM in this segment. MRF launched the Steel Brace tyres last year, which now come factory-fitted to bikes like the KTM 250 Duke, Triumph Speed 400 and the Ultraviolette F77. Apollo Tyres has its Alpha H1, which is also found on the Speed 400, while TVS Eurogrip’s Protorq Extreme’s have recently made their debut on the Aprilia RS 457.

CEAT's launch should be seen in context of a booming replacement market, which accounts for a whopping 60 percent of the company's sales. With OEMs contributing only 27 percent and exports bringing in the remaining 13 percent, the tyre major is betting big on catering to the needs of individual riders.

Lakshmi Narayanan B, chief marketing officer at CEAT, stated that the performance segment in the motorcycle market was previously very niche at around 1.2 percent of the market, but has grown significantly in the last 5-6 years to around 2.5-3 percent of the overall motorcycle tyre market. "It is growing at an extremely fast rate," Narayanan said.
