As RSM said, Price hike will be applicable for all the car models and mariginal difference on 10k-20k of Civic shouldn't affect much as its competitior's price will also rise. Apart from Euro-4 Norms, On the other hand, Seems like it would make a good deal to buy existing Emission models at sweeter price which carmakers will be keen to clear out. The affect can be already seen noticed on huge Rs. 60,000 Discount on Mahindra-Renault Logan.

Fiat to hike price of Linea & Grande Punto by 2-2.5 pc

Economictimes
Car-maker, Fiat, today said it will increase prices of two of its cars, the Linea and the Grande Punto, by 2-2.5 per cent owing to
increasing input costs.

The price increase will be effective from January 1 next year, the company said in a press release issued here.

Prices would go up by about Rs 15,000 on an average and upto Rs 25,000 for some of the versions, the company said, adding that the prices of the Fiat Palio Stile will remain unchanged.

"Input material costs have gone up substantially and without wanting to burden our consumers too much, the cars will now be available with a price increase of 2-2.5 per cent. The Linea and Grande Punto continue to be two of the most attractive propositions in their respective segments," Fiat, CEO and President, Rajeev Kapoor, said.

The company has sold more than 12,000 units of Linea since its launch in January this year and more than 9,000 units of Grande Punto since its launch in June, the company said.

Fiat website also says samething, so hike is confirmed -

On the back of the gala launches of the Linea and Grande Punto in 2009, Fiat has enjoyed a very successful year in the Indian market. Riding on the great looks and performance of the two cars coupled with the aggressive introductory pricing strategy that was employed Fiat managed to clock in very impressive numbers for the current year. The pricing strategy employed for the two Fiat cars was also instrumental in maximizing the impact of the launches and creating higher recall for Fiat in the minds of Indian consumers.

I dont think a 2-2.5 pc hike in the price will dent Fiats sales drastically since they are already priced quite reasonably as compared to other cars in the segment. So a slight increase in price may cut down sales a bit but not very much since in past few months fiat has impressed a lot of people by its A.S.S.

Even one of my friend is looking to buy a Punto or i10 & they are not taking bookings now.

All they say is there is price increase & asked him to wait for 1 week.

But Linea's price increase seems to be huge. It will really create an impact in sales.

All car makers are increasing the price simultaneously, so i don't think major impct will be there because of this. Already fiat cars are selling less, if any impact, they have to pack their bags.
