BS-6 Aprilia & Vespa 160 CC Scooters Launched

Piaggio India has rolled out the BS6 compliant versions of the Aprilia and Vespa scooters in the country. The scooters now get a high performance 160 cc single-cylinder engine that is now fuel-injected in order to meet the upcoming stringent emission norms. With the new powertrain, the Aprilia SR 150 has been rebadged as the Aprilia SR 160. The new Aprilia SR 160 now starts from ₹ 85,431, which is about ₹ 10,000 more expensive than the older version. The new BS6 Vespa 150 SXL, meanwhile, starts at ₹ 91,492 (all-prices, ex-showroom Pune).

The new 160 cc Vespa and Aprilia scooters are available at dealerships pan India and the company will soon introduce the 125 cc scooter range as well by January 2020. This includes the Vespa range as well as the Aprilis SR 125.

Aprilia SR160 reaches dealerships

Piaggio has updated its entire scooter line-up to comply with the upcoming BS6 norms, the prices of which are listed here. In the case of the Aprilia SR150 range, the transition brought an engine with a slightly larger capacity, and a new name for the scooter – the SR160. The scooter has now begun reaching dealerships and deliveries are slated to commence soon.

According to dealers, prices for the SR160 start at Rs 1.04 lakh, going up to Rs 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The rise in prices on these scooters are the most significant hikes we have seen so far, and the higher-spec models have witnessed a price hike of nearly Rs 20,000.

BS6 Aprilia Scooters Prices Revealed

Aprilia has launched the BS6 models of its scooters in India. The BS6 range of Aprilia scooters includes the SR 160, the SR 125 and the Storm 125. All models are already available in showrooms and they get a hefty price hike, about ₹ 19,000 for all models. Apart from the BS6 engines, the scooters stay the same in terms of design and features. The power and torque output for all scooters stays similar, more or less. The BS6 prices and the BS4 prices mentioned below are ex-showroom, Bengaluru.
