Autocar India Reports......
BMW is planning a stripped-down version of the 320d called the ‘Executive’. The options that will be deleted from the features list include the sunroof, cupholders and powered seats. The missing features will result in a considerable drop in the price tag to around Rs 24 lakh from the near Rs 30 lakh price for the 320d. The Executive will only be available to fleet customers when it goes on sale in January 2010.

They should have atleast kept the cupholders.
Cost Cutting.

But the car has a lot of other storage space so one wouldn't miss them.
The bad part of this deal is that its not available for Individuals, 3 Series Sales will see a boost if this applies to individuals as well, It would make the most Value For Money pick of the lot among C-Class and A4.

yup i read this elsewhere also
this is bad
because beemers and mercs are a "niche" market and this is really going to hamper their "niche" identity.[shock][frustration]
(personal opinion)

This is quite good move!

But general customer would have turned to wonders for them!

Still they make more money :)

BMW 3-Series Corporate Editon

With the Volvos and Audis going under heavy price cuts, How can BMW stay behind? Bavarian Motor Works has released 3-Series' Corporate Edition at an irresistible price, But what it misses is -

  • Front Lumbar Support
  • Xenon Headlamps
  • BMW's i-Drive
  • Leather Interiors
  • Sunroof
However, Following features remain as Optional;

  • CD Changers
  • Blue tooth Connectivity
  • Wooden Finish
  • USB Interface

BMW to lease cars for specific periods to customers

Economictimes
Luxury cars will become affordable with BMW India planning to lease out cars to individual customers not preferring outright purchase. The German car company will lease such cars for specific periods and also take them back for re-sale.

Under this, BMW will sell cars returned by customers after some years of use as well as the company-owned fleet used by its own executives. The company with re-furbish these old cars and sell them under its own warranty and also provide complete service backup through its dealers just as it does for its new cars.

So does it applies under reduced price scheme of 24 lakhs? but i think that price was for buying a BMW and this is for just lease. wondering how much will have to spend to lease a BMW??
