Shopping for a home - office entry level commuter. Have zeroed in on the newly introduced Bajaj CT 110. Got quotes from a couple of dealers.

Ex-showroom: Rs 38,502
Regn + Insurance + other charges: Rs 14,050
On-road: Rs 52,552.

The Rs 14,052 - isn't it on the higher side? Lifetime road tax works out to Rs 3,080 (8% of ex-showroom value). Insurance works out to Rs 4,750 to Rs 5,000 (here too it looks high). So, the on-road price should be around Rs 46,500.

What's your opinion? Is it typical of dealers overcharging like this? What should I do?

Do ask them the bifurcation of the otr price.
I recently bought a suzuki acess.

Ex showroom 59996 rs
Road tax - 5718 rs
Rc - 200 rs
Extended warranty (now till 5 years) - 650rs
Self Insurance ( 5 years OD+ TP+ZERO DEP+CONSUMABLES) - 10400rs
Total - 76900rs.

They gave me a bill of 59996rs of the vehicle
Road tax plus card fees plus extended warranty 4130rs +650rs
Total 64776 out of 66500. Difference of 1724rs. So yeah they do this. Have asked the sales advisor about the difference , yet to hear it from him.
