Re: Which 2 wheeler Gearless Scooter?

Hi Mukesh,

Please stay away from Activa. Wont do justice for 53K you spend.
I would suggest you to have a check on Mahindra Duro and Suzuki Access.

I am a poor owner of Activa and not kind of happy with it. Also service is a heck there. The ride is also quiet bumpy with Activa. I realised it only after i tried my friend's access. [:)]

Don't have much idea about Aviator. :)

Re: Which 2 wheeler Gearless Scooter?

Hey guys now its more of confusion, i brought the quotation for Activa its 53,650 + 4750 accessories.
Red & Black available immediately, silver needs waiting for 3 months, but we have some contacts where the vehicle will be delivered within a week.

Wego is available for 53,550 including accesories.

Now to confusion Aviator has also been added to list, what do you all have to say about Aviator.

And how is the Suzuki Access, can anyone shed some info on Suzuki access.

Thanks in advance.
Suzuki access is great vehicle with a powerful 125cc engine, but the service is not like hondas especially in Bangalore. It costs somewhere round 53k on-road with accessories, its also a better vehicle and has an hand over activa.

Re: Which 2 wheeler Gearless Scooter?

Hey guys thanks for all the inputs.

I have an instance to share about [gun]Advaith Auto (Suzuki dealers).
It was a very bad experience with Suzuki Advaith @ Basavanagudi.

We entered the showroom , as we entered the showroom, We asked the person that we were looking for Access.
He was like before showing us the vehicle,Tell us it takes 5 months.

And he was suggesting to go for black.

I said let me see the vehicle first.

He: Sir Cash or Finance.

Me:I said Cash, i think he lost interest at that moment.

He: Why cash sir we have finance, you can try it.
Me: He gives us quote before showing vehicle, finally he gave us a used company vehicle which was in bad shape, the fibre body already had a crack.

I told my mom to ride the vehicle, he asked that she would be accompanied by someone.
I said what's your problem, i will wait here, let her have a test drive alone.
I already lost interest in this vehicle.
The brakes were hard and had to press hard to make the vehicle start.

She(mom) came back after a round and said the vehicle switched off twice.

Then i had already lost interest in vehicle , my mom asked me to ride once.

The vehicle switched off just when i was riding, only a few metres, vehicle stalls.

I spoke to GM of that dealership, he comes and says to ride a vehicle which was a newly registered vehicle, i declined.
Why should i ride a person's vehicle which was ready for delivery.

He tells me he will arrange other vehicle, i just left the dealership.
I asked him why didn't he offer a good Test drive
vehicle.

So i thought never ever Suzuki access.

To the hell with Suzuki & Access.

Disclaimer: These are my personal views, no offense to Access owners.

Then i headed straight to Silicon Honda on R.V. Road.

wow what a customer service.[thumbsup]

The sales guy leads us to the stock yard directly, inspite of brochures there.
We checked all colours of Activa.
Then narrowed down to White & Red , as Silver is discontinued.
Which was our 1st priority.

Then Sales guy said it takes 1 & half months for Red.

We smiled and went to the owner of Silicon Honda, Baliga, who was known to us.
He just made a call to the Reception , the same guy who said 1 & half months now says , when you want the vehicle sir.
We said on 19th Dec, as this was my parent's Wedding Anniversary.

Paid 10,000 advance , though booking amount was 1,000/-

Meanwhile prior to that he insisted us to try Aviator too.
Which i felt very good, but i didn't liked it looks.

Decision panel was my mom, so i let her decide which one she felt better.

She was more comfortable with the trust Activa all these years.

In the end clear Winner was Activa(Red).

So booked finally Candy Lucid Red colour.

Breakup of Activa-DLX:

Basic: 47,260/-
Insurance: 927/-
Road Tax: 5,246/-
Reg Fee: 120/-
Smart card (RC copy/card): 230
On Road: 53783/-

Accesories(Optional): 4812/-.

Btw any PDI checks to be done on this one?
What all should i check before accepting the vehicle.

Mods: Kindly change the threads name to "Booked Activa Dlx Candy Lucid red colour"

Perform a thorough inspection of the vehicle on exteriors, mechanical and electrical part. Also make sure to decode the VIN.

Thanks Vibhor , but there was a mahindra 2 wheeler showroom, which was deserted.

More over Mitul the other day had said the dealership to be worst.
So didn't pay visit to Mahindra.

The service of Honda is excellent here in Bangalore.

That's true. The best part is that Honda is delivering it on the desired date.

Congrats on the selection Mukesh. Nice to see about the Honda dealership experience.

I would not say the sales person's mistake in terms of letting you know about the waiting period. Probably he might have set the right expectation. But, other things i would feel the same way.

Also, what is the big deal with Finance/ Cash? Do SE's get any % in getting the customer to choose finance? If so, i don't think it is a good practice.

Yes he could have said it later, for a person who is visiting the showroom for checking the vehicle 1st time.

I guess on Finance they can extract more money.

Anyways now looking forward to Honda.

Hey guys today going to finalize a vehicle in Red in another 30 min.

I think all the vehicle have done 4-6 kms on ODO, apart from that what all i should look for.

To add to confusion there are 6 Red Activa's, i will have to choose one of them, and will be paying the rest of amount and vehicle will be sent to Regn on Sat as 18th is Sunday.

How will i know when the vehicle was manufactured from given VIN No?

So what all do i need to check with the new vehicle.

I think that you might have finalized by now. But for future and other’s references: Just make sure to inspect that the vehicle is without any manufacturing defects in terms of both, looks and functionality. Also, post the VIN of Honda Activa in appropriate thread and I am sure that someone will be able to decode it: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...-decoding-vehicle-information-number-vin.html

Re: Best Gearless Scooter? (Booked Honda Activa DLX Candy Lucid Red)

Btw yesterday had been to Silicon Honda.
Made full payment towards vehicle.

There were 6 Activa's the other day, the other owners who had waited for 3 & half months.
But only 2 were left to pick, which had done 25 kms already, i was not happy with it.
2 were taking delivery, i asked them how long they waited, they said 3& half months.

I was laughing inside & rejected 2 other vehicle.

The owner (Baliga) of dealership spoke to us and said a fresh lot would be coming by Monday on trailer and i can see myself unloading it to their godown on Monday 10.30 am.

Which i accepted that.
And the vehicle will be registered on that day 19th Dec, which is a special occasion.
And i left the dealership, while ticking the accessories, i needed.

I went for front guard, ladies side step, side stand,Front box, Engine Warranty 375/- for 3rd year.
Activa comes with 2 year Standard warranty, with 4 free services.

Declined Teflon, as i can do it myself with Carnauba wax.

With vehicle,No offer was given as i wanted vehicle immediately.

He said for number plate we charge 200/-, i said i don't want number plates as i will be going for HSRP.

I didn't want to go for normal number plates.

It costs 500 outside for 2 wheeler.

Also for Hawk 950/-

Which i am thinking to go for Hawk too.

Paid for accesories worth 2832/-

What can be done to improve the effectiveness along woth estimated cost. I want the headlights to be effective on road rather than percing the same into oponents eyes :)

May be it needs headlight aiming downwards, the dome reflector can be changed if it has crack.

Are you using highbeam , in order to view the road ahead?

It costs somewhere around 850/- when i had asked the SA before leaving my activa for service yesterday.

Btw i have thought to repaint whole activa, the service centre gave a quote of 7500 to repaint whole activa along with , removing dents.
