How's the experience with shell advance?
Post-3000 km, it's still flying in mid rpms, no vibrations, but level is dropping, which shouldn't be the problem with oil. Switching back to 5100 since I couldn't get Shell Advance Ultra for cheap. Current price bump in 5100 is making me look forward for something else.

Washing regularly doesn't cause rusting issues in some areas?
Not necessarily. Almost washing every 2-3 weeks for the past 9.5 years.

Dipstick O-Ring - 932101980900 - ₹ 5.00
Cheap, yet significant part. I see most mechanics reluctant to replace them. ASC never replace them, even upon request. Garages use gasket maker over them instead of replacing.

Effect will be vapor leak. Most will neglect, but over a period, the oil escaped will be good enough.

New vs old. Visually one can't easily make out the damage.

New one installed. Now that closes with some tightness felt. 500 km past, no signs of any vapor leak.

At how many intervals should i use formula 1 scratch out paste on my bike?
When I'm applying the paste on my bike it easily removes most of the scratches but buffing pad and microfiber cloth also become red in color. Is scratch out paste harming my bike paint?

Can you suggest any good paint sealant and wax both. Currently using formula 1 wax.

Turtlewax is good. Formula 1 also good, but lots of fakes. 3M got liquid waxes.

Frequent buffing can harm the paint. Buff only when necessary, do waxing frequently. I don't follow any interval. When it starts becoming dull, start waxing.

How's the liqui moly engine oils?
Mixed review. Again, more fakes than originals. Try only if you could get from genuine dealer. They are also costlier comparing Motul and all.

April 2019:

Brake shoe has become one of the frequently changed parts nowadays, like every 5-7k km, thanks to grooves in the rear drum.

Tail lamp x.xx version. Lost count of how many times I improvised it.

This time replaced all Chinese LEDs with Kwality Photonics Superflux LEDs. They are made in India and output is twice the Chinese ones and lasts long, really long. I bought the first set from them more than 10 years back and conk off rate it less than 1% compared to the Chinese stuff. 36 LEDs in total. Arranged in set of 4 and 3.

Number plate lights replaced with 0.5 W SMD LEDs (5630/5730), which I use for almost all park light projects nowadays.

Significantly brighter. Number plate needs the black filming as digits already faded.

May 2019:

50th liter of oil for Barricade. Back to square one. Motul 5100 still remains my favorite, so do Barricade.

₹ 570.00, didn't get any discount like other Motul dealers.

Shell Advance Ultra after 3.5k km.

2019-05-17 15-27-17_resize.jpg

Drained only 600 ml, which was alarmingly low. One thing I noticed was anything other than 5100 would be low after decent period of use. No white smoke, so not burning.

Another part off the wishlist. Wanted to change switch gear as red switches turned dull. Bought RH unit. Install only after buying LH unit.

Minda SW-0640B-M01 - ₹ 365.00
Same unit comes OEM in Yamaha packing.

Is the kwality will working!?
I remember buying 1W, 3W and superflux LEDs back in the last decade from them. They have seriously maintained some quality. They used to have Ads in EFY magazine.

BTW, How did you manage the dual brightness Brake/Running Circuit? By using two LED chains? or Diode Resistor trick?

Some great DIYs you have there. keep them up!

Can we install pulsar switchgear? Backlit one.
Switchgear of the later models after deletion of BCU will work. Not sure of engine kill, it might be ulta-pulta. Anyway have to cut the wiring.

They still do. Now they are pioneering in SMD LEDs. Bought some 1500 SMD LEDs from them so far. They sell with a different name, LEDChip Indus. They are into automotive tail lamp LED bulbs also, but nothing much heard.

Diode + resistor.

Thanks [:D]
