Never used the Bosch. Many were complaining of overheating issues with it. Been using G-Power since almost the same year I bought the bike. Bike cranks easily at any cold temp comparing stock. Apart from that nothing really noticeable. It's maintenance free. Fit it, forget it. No cleaning or gap adjustment needed.
Yup, thanks for the reply, I upgraded the spark plug from stock to NGK GPower CPR8EAGP. After upgrading, the initial Rpm have reducec from 2500 to almost 2000 but I had observed a very good change in the throttle response which has become more crisp now and the acceleration is more linear.

Also, I am going to change my front tyre and earlier I had already changed the rear to Michelin Pilot Street Radial 140/70-17 and they are a joy to ride. I am confused if 110/70-17 would better fit the front alloys. Does this combination affect the Rake and stance of the bike? I think it will exert more load on the front shockers.

Not much difference in ride height, more planted and bit heavy.

Fork Overhaul

One of the forks started leaking and decided to overhaul both sides completely.

Fork Oil Seal - 4EB-23145-01 - ₹ 250.00 x 2

Compared with old snaps and found GT had the same ones, exact same. RE packing ₹ 315.00 and hard to get.

Endurance Fork Oil - 350 ml - ₹ 100.00 x 3.
350 x 3. Needs 460 x 2.
Couldn't get Motul as there seems shortage of it and all were stocking KBX and Endurance.

Changed dust seal in one of the forks. Lost the snaps somewhere.

Fork Dust Seal - 4EB231440000 - ₹ 205.00
Snap Ring - 21CF31561000 - ₹ 7.00

Removed forks and got it changed at our regular Honda FNG, Vinayak Honda. Charged ₹ 450.00.

Total damage - ₹ 1672.00

Removing these 2 bolts after removing mudguard and brakes removes the fork without touching headlight and all.

Carb Cleaning update:

Throttle was getting stuck and found that butterfly was getting stuck. Disassembled and lubed both side pivots of butterfly and working now perfectly. Now throttle is smooth and carb response is better. Flying past 6k rpm is breeze.

Brake Pad Kit - 2GS-W0045-0000 - ₹ 166.00

Pads are from FZ v2. Got 3 grooves instead of 1.

Minda Electronic Indicator Flasher. Works well with LED indicators with proper flash rates, avoiding the need for ballast resistors. Minda ones were actually better than local ones with similar pricing. No relay ticking noise. Even the speedometer indicator works fine without skipping a blink. Paid ₹ 95.00.

March 2019:

While washing, saw rear sprocket oil seal popping out. Despite multiple attempts, it wasn't fitting back properly. Removed wheel and checked and to my horror, the bearing was done. Don't remember replacing it. It was Sunday and no lathe was open to remove or buy new bearing. With tight schedules, taking off nor parking the bike was possible.

2019-03-10 12-18-32.jpg

With many things running in mind, took a 1/2 inch socket and banged and the bearing popped out.

It was an NBC (Birla) make, model 6004 LH.

2019-03-10 13-13-12.jpg

Rushed to the usual spare guy, who is open on Sundays. Voila and there was equivalent SKF bearing. Price was almost double the NBC make.
Model: SKF 6004-2RS1
Paid ₹ 230.00 (MRP₹ 239.00)

The bearing.

2019-03-10 13-15-28.jpg

Cleaned and ready for install.

2019-03-10 13-17-59.jpg

Place the bearing and gently tap it in. Use old bearing or a wooden block to spread the force. Don't hit on the inner ring as it can displace the balls/damage the bearing.

2019-03-10 13-18-56.jpg

Used rubber mallet. Don't bang with your regular iron hammer.

2019-03-10 13-21-21.jpg

Voila. Install complete.

2019-03-10 13-21-04.jpg

Put back the old oil seal. It was deformed at places, though was intact and serves its purpose. Not happy with its torn look and itching to replace it as soon as possible.
