The 2021 Audi Q2 has been given a subtle facelift and new tech.

The premium small SUV became the first of Audi's style-focused 'even number' models when it launched in Europe in 2016, and the recent updates see this continued with new headlights, taillights, air vents, upholstery, and colour options.

New technology options have also been introduced.

The updated headlight profile is the most obvious addition at the front end (with a dynamic turn signal option available), while the bumper and air intakes have also been remodelled.

An integrated diffuser insert has been introduced at the rear, and the profile of the taillights has been changed.

Audi has added five new paint options for the Q2: Apple Green, Manhattan Grey, Navarra Blue, Arrow Grey and Turbo Blue.

Inside, a new gear lever and air vents stand out as the headlining changes, while Dinamica microfibre replaces the Alcantara trim of the outgoing model.

A 12.3-inch digital dash cluster and 8.3-inch infotainment 'MMI navigation plus' system are both optional, upgrading from a standard analog instrument cluster.

Also available is the premium 14-speaker 705-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system.

The top infotainment system is provided with Audi Connect services, which includes online traffic information, emergency call & service, and remote & control.

Optional assist systems are bundled into the 'Drive', 'Safety', and 'Park' packages.

The ‘Drive’ package includes an adaptive cruise assist system, which offers semi-autonomous capabilities across the entire speed range. This means it can accelerate, decelerate and steer within its lane.

A range of five petrol and diesel powertrains will be offered with the new-look Q2's initial launch in Europe, although the only one detailed so far is a 110kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder.

A six-speed manual is standard with this engine, while a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission can be optioned.

The standard variant is front-wheel drive, however it is understood that Quattro all-wheel drive will be incorporated with some engines.

The 2021 Audi Q2 will arrive locally in mid-2021. Further details and pricing will be announced closer to the launch.
