2019 Hyundai Elantra has been showcased with a mid-cycle refresh, and a new look. What’s surprising is gathered media were readying for a Santa Fe first drive, and were in for a surprise – global reveal of refreshed 2019 Elantra. Yes. Even the media present at the venue had no idea that there was a global reveal of the all new Hyundai Elantra.

In markets where Hyundai Elantra has fared well, it’s proven to be an important car. Introduced in its newest avatar two years ago, Elantra is the best-selling car in Korea and 7th best selling sedan in US at present.

2019 Hyundai Elantra in its new design is a much sportier looking car, and features a host of safety systems. The front fascia lends to its sporty outlook with a new grille. The rectangular LED daytime running lights are new.

Matching it toe to toe are the redesigned hood, trunk, bumpers, and taillights. Wheel choices begin at 16-inches. Top end variants will have the choice of 17 or 18-inch wheels.

Nothing has changed under the hood. Engine and transmission choices continue to range from three 4-cyl motors offering between 128 hp to 201 hp mated to a 6-speed manual/6-speed automatic/7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

A new 8.0-inch high-res infotainment touchscreen features and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s on offer as an option on Limited and Sport variants. Other variants are fitted with the previously used 7.0-inch Hyundai unit.

With the exception of the Elantra SE base variant, all new 2019 Hyundai Elantra sedans are high on safety features with blind-spot monitors, lane departure warning with active lane control, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, among other features. Hyundai is certain that upward of 75 percent of new Elantras sold will feature life-saving safety tech.

Hyundai Elantra has been having a decent run in India. Expect the new Hyundai Elantra to be launched in India by Diwali next year. Once launched, it will be a perfect rival to Toyota Corolla.

2019 Hyundai Elantra new photos revealed – US price $17,100 (Rs 12 lakhs)

2019 Hyundai Elantra is a great example of when you take something that’s working and make it look even better. In it’s current generation, Elantra was introduced in 2016, and the 2019 design update is a mid life cycle boost.

The sixth-gen Elantra first went on sale in early 2016, and its new design update gives it an edge to keep the fight strong against segment competitors like the Toyota Corolla. The noticeable design update includes a redesigned front fascia, fenders, grille and headlamps.

Simplistic and minimalist rectangular LED daytime running lights are new and bold. 15-inch to 17-inch are also available across six trim levels. 2019 Hyundai Elantra also features a redesigned hood, trunk, bumpers, and taillights. Even the licence plate fixture has been lowered. While the base variant is available with 16″ wheels, top end variants are offered in a choice of choice of 17″ or 18″ wheels.

Changes inside the cabin include multiple tweaks. Air vents, instrument cluster, and HVAC controls are changed, and the steering wheel too has been redone. Hyundai SmartSense safety and convenience tech are available starting at SEL trim.

While Hyundai has offered a multitude of changes for more pep and style, what’s under the hood has been carried forward. Elantra continues to get power from two four-cylinder powertrains – a 1.4-litre engine that returns 128 hp; and its 2.0-litre engine that returns 147hp. Elantra Sport to be powered with a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine will be launched later in 2019.

2019 Hyundai Elantra is available at an entry price point of $17,100 (Rs 12 lakhs). A total of 8 variants are on offer. Top variant, Sport Elantra MY 2019 is priced at $23,500 (Rs 17 lakhs). Launch of this new Elantra in India is expected to take place next year.

2019 Hyundai Elantra (facelift) spied in India for the first time

The 2019 Hyundai Elantra may retain the engine options in India: Nu 2.0 petrol and U2 1.6 diesel. The petrol engine produces 152 PS and 19.6 kg.m (192.21 Nm) of torque. The diesel engine develops 128 PS and 26.5 kg.m (259.88 Nm) of torque. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic should remain the transmission choices.

The 2019 Hyundai Elantra will likely go on sale in India in the first half of 2019.

The Rear camera is sticking out like a sore thumb. The camera is right above the Hyundai logo, in integrated spoiler.

Looks nice and sportier, be it the exterior as well as the interior. Even the Steering looks sportier. But Hyundai should make the elantra more sportier to drive to. Instead of the 1.6Lt Diesel they should bring in the 2.0Lt diesel from the Tucson. The 1.6 Lt Diesel engine best suits for Verna and Creta and not for Elantra.

Hyundai's don't cater to enthusiasts, hence I told , as enthusiasts go in with Octavia.
Spot On
The car is a STUNNER in the new Avatar, only if Hyundai is able to put in it a heart which attracts Enthusiasts.
I would love a Octavia 1.8TSI engine inside the Elantra 2019 body[evil]

IF only the car had slightly elevated stance and less of the coupe effect. I'd be driving one today. I just loved the design. I think it was the most elegant of all the designs I looked at recently while purchasing the City (eventually).

2019 Hyundai Elantra India Launch In Festive Season This Year

2019-hyundai-elantra-india-1.jpg

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) will launch the new 2019 Hyundai Elantra during this year’s festive season to take on the likes of new Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis. The facelift for the latest generation Elantra should look exactly like the recently introduced international version, which should help it offer stiff competition to the futuristic-looking tenth-gen Honda Civic.

ASEAN-spec Hyundai Elantra facelift revealed

?n=http%3a%2f%2fcdni.autocarindia.com%2fExtraImages%2f20190422052949_elantra-ad-fl-highlights-ga.jpg

Hyundai has showcased the ASEAN-spec Elantra facelift for the first time in Malaysia. Compared to its left-hand-drive counterpart that was revealed in August last year, cosmetic differences are minor with changes to the exterior mainly coming down to difference in alloy wheel design and a few bits of chrome. The same is true inside the cabin as well, with the styling from the left-hand-drive model mirrored by the ASEAN-spec car.

I wrote a feedback to Hyundai care regarding the average music system in the elantra. I guess many would have complained about the same and as a result now they are launching infinity music system in India as well [:D]
