From few days, I am observing that AC has become weak. Today when I sat in my brothers i10 (manual transmission)the AC chilled in no time, while my car takes much more time to chill.

What could be the problem?
Compressor?
AC gas?
Any other?

OR

it's little weak in automatic i10?

Leaky gas probably or a faulty thermostat, do check if the ac belt is not slipping and the clutch is engaging properly. auto/manual wont make a difference.

Always use air-conditioner at least a month by turning on for 2 minutes,it will keep the blower clean, yes the gas may have lessened check with the service people

Also get the ac filter checked and get them cleaned or replaced a clogged filter can also reduce the efficiency of the air conditioner.

I got my AC checked at HASS. Those guys there mentioned that there is no AC filter in i10[surprise]. He said though the gas is full, we will replace the gas. The efficiency of gas must have reduced.

I really don't understand now what is the real problem[frustration]. the thermostat and other things are ok.

have you fixed the issue? well air conditioning gases never loose their efficency. Nor do they get depleted unless theres a leak in the refrigeration circuit. also low gas amoung and high gas amount will affect your cooling. keep your ac on and check your engine there will be two pipes that come from your firewall the fat one should be cold but not warm and neither frozen. if the compressor engages but still no cooling then if there is no change in pressures then your compressor is gone. also there can be an issue with the expansion valve.
if they ever remove the gas have them vaccuum pump the lines for minimum 30 minutes to remove moisture and air and perform leak test. then add the gas by weight method only the weight will be written down somewhere in the engine bay. or if they use rpessure method there will be a different in cooling and efficiency based on the ambient outside temperatures.
btw if there is a decrease in airflow from the vents then your evaporator coil is dirty.
you can also keep your ac performing well by spraying water on the coil behind your bumper to keep it clean just spray with caution and not much pressure.

any leak can be identified by an oil stain at any joints or on the fins

I got the same feedback what you just said regarding the gas. I have done the same thing, sprayed water on condenser/evaporator coil and I guess I am ok for now. However after my spark plug got busted the AC efficiency had gone down.

Don't know whats going on with my car. The worst part is I had to tell Hyundai Jokers what to do. Such incompetent people are here in Hyundai Pune A.S.S.

Even after replacing the wiring chords and spark plug, still i observe some misfire and a drag in my car. Though its reduced 80%.

Ask them to get the ignition coil checked and replace in warranty.

For ac , ask them to put the pressure meter in front of you and check.low pressure must be around 2 and high must be around 25

i am sorry just to say number not the units since i am used to check in that way , and ac problem is seldome checked in my garage. we send to ac mech seperately.
i hope 2 is 2 or 20 psi
and 25 is 25 o 250psi.

i hope it must be 20 and 250. the meter will be like rpm one like 1x 1000 rps , so the digit will be same :stupid:

Is your blower in recycle air mode ?
ask them to check compressor too.

I hope the problem must have been solved!

After applying water using pressure on condenser coil and replacing my spark plugs and spark plug chords the problem seems to be eased out.

I did show it to AC specialist, as per him, AC is working fine. However he checked by hand and no tools were used.

My blower is always in recycle mode and I use my AC regularly. Lately I have observed one thing. When ever I turn my AC ON, there is rise is RPM as well as vibrations in my car (coarseness of engine increases). Also for i10 the RPM level is 850 as standard at idle. But in my car that has dropped to 500 recently after one of my spark plug blew off.

it can be the ignition coil which is lowering your rpms below a specified rpm the compressor clutch demagnetizes. keeping the ac in recycle mode is inefficient and will clog your evaporator since you do not have a filter in it.
if one spark plug isnt firing well the engine will idle roughly with more vibrations. please check the ignition coils to or else you may need a new catalytic converter if unburnt fuels keep entering it for a long time. and this is not an expensive part.
please change your service centre

Thanks nick. Only hitch is these guys are not able to do proper diagnosis of the problem.

1. Changed all spark plugs
2. Changed all spark plug chords

problem of high vibrations went away 80%. Slight lesser at pickup. Spark plug had gone black, burnt out completely.

3. Changed engine oil from Castrol magnatec to Shell Helix HX7.
This point should not be the cause of remaining 20% vibrations.

4. At idle the RPM drops to 500, where as the normal RPM of i10 is 800
5. At idle if I switch on the AC then 10% more vibrations and RPM climbs from 500 to 800-900 range.
I suspect the problem somewhere here, but don't know how to detect it. Now I don't know whether it's due to catalytic converter, oil change, AC load, some engine problem, or auto transmission problem???

Hyundai guys are of no use here, I checked with all dealers in Pune. Pathetic.

Spark plug burn out completely is not a good sign.
check for ignition coil,as said earlier and connect a scanner from hyundai and check all other data's.
