Whats the use of showing off infrastructure when we can't feed the several hungry mouths roaming about? The next time you are at a signal, look at those little children either begging or selling petty stuff, the old man carrying medical bills, the limping physical handicap, , the woman carrying a baby..... What the hell do they, and the large chunk of the Indian population, who are in poverty, care , heck even know about the CWG and the huge development of city infrastructure??? If we've developed to such a great extent, why do we see people sleeping on footpaths in our great metros? This brings to me not pride, but the feeling of SHAME. I really feel very pained that there are people suffering when we don't seem to have a lack of funds.

Development of infrastructure is one matter, and poverty is another, but you are trying to mix-match both, Nonetheless, since politics, government and all, are very thin-skinned subjects. Best if avoided to discuss in a public forum.

Frankly 2010 common wealth games left a very bad legacy and IMHO, it has left a bitterness, anger in our country. In contrast the 1982 ASIAD left many wonderful legacy including new stadiums, colour TV, houses which are still coveted even after 30 years and finally sweet memories which everyone can relish and cherish as ASIAD signalled to world that India was free from baggage of old and was striding towards a modern look.Sadly CWG pushed India back 30 years.
