Great one RSM. Tata have a long way to go for improving their Service and quality. Both dependability and the sales satisfaction datas prove it.

My Indigo too proved that. And i think all the tata cars justify that thing. But the surprising element in that figure is the Ford in terms of Dependability

I am surprised to see Hyundai skidding down in the list. They have good cars and also understand Indian mentality well. Should buck up now!

MSIL, as always! The trust factor comes in here. Maruti has done great in gaining trust of the people. Glad to see it is maintained that way!

I think the diesel Hyundais are the reason for that. Spares are priced higher than rivals and many mechanicals problems will make the customer's worries higher.

Thanks for sharing the reports!

TATA is improving a lot now a days in terms of reliability & service!

No doubt it will make India outstand in Foreign Markets :) May be too optimistic!

Ford Ikon Emerges as a Leader in Entry-Level Sedan Segment

As per the latest results of research conducted by JD Power Asia Pacific for India Quality Study SM 2009, Ford Ikon has emerged as the best entry level sedan in its segment. “The results speak for itself. It’s about a quantum leap in quality that our vehicles demonstrate and our laser-focus and commitment to produce world-class quality vehicles for this market that exceed customer expectations,” said Michael Boneham, President & Managing Director, Ford India. ''We will continue to leverage the momentum gained and build on as we launch products in the future.'' added Boneham.

Earlier Ford’s SUV Endeavour and Ikon both have scored high points in JD Power Study for Dependability. The new results are quite encouraging for the company that prepares itself for entering the small car segment by launching its hatchback model Figo in India. Ford Ikon beats strong contenders like Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Tata Manza in its segment. Note that Tata has only recently launched the Tata Manza in India, and the Swift Dzire is one of the fastest selling models in its segment with a waiting period stretching up to at least 3-4 weeks.

Mahindra Bolero Tops the Customer Satisfaction Charts SUV / MPV Category

The Mahindra Bolero has been ranked the highest in total customer satisfaction in the SUV / MPV category in the 2009 four-wheeler Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) study conducted by TNS Automotive, the specialist division of TNS Global. The Mahindra Bolero has been graded against brands like the Toyota Innova, the Chevrolet Tavera, the Tata Sumo and the Tata Safari. The Bolero has achieved a TRIM Index score of 96, as against the automotive industry average of 91.

This study is based on a survey undertaken among more than 8100 owners of major car models sold in the country and covers over 54 models. Criteria for the award included sales satisfaction, product quality, vehicle performance and design, after sales service, brand image and cost-of ownership. The TCS index score provides a measure of satisfaction and loyalty that a given model enjoys with its customers.

Hmmm seems like Mahindra has taken a huge lead over TATA. Not surprised to see the Bolero winning against Safari and Tavera but against Innova??[surprise]

I think Innova and Safari must have lost in Cost of ownership and A.S.S respectively!

Bolero has always been a best seller & is one of the most efficient, rugged, reliable & comfy MUVs around. no wonder it sells so much.

it is always found in autocar india's top ten selling car's list, usually in the 4th or 5th position after cars like alto, santro & ritz.

Exactly and Bolero is a popular vehicle in rural areas in North, After Trax. Even some Govt. offices here have also adopted it.
